Saturday Songsausion presents Kristine Sparkle on CAAC

For those looking for the results of my January 1st BOTB, you’ll find the outcome pinned at the top of my site for the next couple of days or you can click here.

Today’s music inspiration came after listening to Devil Woman (Cliff Richards) on The Sound of One Hand Typing.  John featured the song in honor of Richards’ 81st birthday in October.   Although, I knew the song I wasn’t convinced it was Cliff’s version.  Long story short I was wrong but in the process, I found a new-to-me artist.  A gal who recorded Devil Woman first.  I really enjoyed the original.  The quality of the artist’s voice is what I like to hear in a female vocals.  Wanting to sample more of her music, I found a 10-song playlist on YouTube and gave it a listen.  Not bad, not bad at all!   Allow me to introduce to you, Kristine Sparkle!

Devil Woman album (released 2008): 1. I’m a Song 2. Just a Few Words 3. Bohemian 4. Late Night Moves 5. Pussycat Tiger 6. Devil Woman 7. Sweet Butterfly 8. Sweet Talking Dan 9.Till You’re Loving Me Again 10. Grandpa (Tell Me One More Story)

While you’re listening to Kristine.  You might find it interesting to know that she is one of the co-author’s of Devil Woman.  Kristine Sparkle birth name, Christine Holmes, was not only a solo artist in the 60s but had a successful run with The Family Dogg.  Kristine’s debut album released in 1974, Image, which included remakes of the Chestnuts In His Kiss and Baby, I Love You (B-side of Hokey Cokey).  The same cover album also include The Beatles “Eight Days a Week”.  A complete track list can be found here. What I found amusing about Kristine is her single from 1975 written about the star of Kojak, King of the Kops which made the Canadian top 50 chart but it was the B-side track,  I’m Gonna Love You, Baby I liked the best.  What makes an artist an international star is beyond me but Kristine had the voice for it!

Thank you for including me in your Saturday.  I hope you enjoyed the music selection and if you want more music, then I hope you consider joining me for Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sunday. The theme this week is Winter theme songs or band names relating to arctic animals, snow/snowmen, hibernation.  I’m saving a dance for you, so come join me on the dance floor. 😉 Have a songsational Saturday! x💋x💋, Cathy
