Through impurrfections we find God’s purrfection.

Valentine’s Day 2018

Every Wednesday, Kat Bouska author of Mama’s Losin’ It posts six questions prompting her readers to choose, create, and link up with her near-world famous writing workshop.

DH and I are high school sweethearts and I got married at 17 (DH was almost 20).  I  often reflect on how we’re two distinct people with different purrsonalities and styles but our goals, our cores are one.  I’m thankful that over the years, we’ve experienced minimal troubles but no matter how small or big the crisis, we rolled our breeches up to wade through the storm together or pushed our shirt sleeves up to apply some elbow grease to work out the problem.  It was important to constantly remind ourselves subconsciously and sometimes shared reasons we fell in love and at the same time we came to appreciate the things about the another that made us nutty.  We can’t be identical always and that’s okay.  Marriage isn’t for the weak and it should always be entered with a no-quit attitude.  Nothing in life is ever purrfect. I believe wholeheartedly that it’s through our impurrfections we found God’s purrfection (He has been our center always) for our lives but we had to open our hearts to see this truth.  Is that what you’re doing with your relationship?

I’m joining Thankful Thursday and Ten Things of Thankful. Purrsonally speaking, I’m thankful every day for all blessings, big or small, given to me.  It’s Valentine’s Day so I think it’s nice to say a special word of thanks to DH.  This is our 42nd V-Day to share and there’s no doubt in my mind that God joined us. We complement one another bringing out the best in the other – the purrfect union if you ask me. 😉 Thank you, dear Lord, for your goodness!

On a somewhat silly note, depends on how you wanna look it, I am VERY thankful for the discovery of chocolate by Spanish Conquistador, Don Hernán Cortéslet’s in 1528.  Okay, it was discovered by that time but it was he who realized it’s commercial value.  He didn’t need Cupid to show him the way.  Anywho chocolate is one of life’s simple pleasures that brings so much satisfaction which I plan to indulge in later this evening with DH.  What can I say, it’s a tradition!

What are you thankful for this Thursday?

Please join me tomorrow for your weekly dose of giggles and mid-February round of Battle of the Bands.

DH brought these home last night. I love this fella of mine lots! According to ProFlowers’ website, yes it’s a commercial website who’s job is to sell flowers but it’s still good info to know. Valentine’s Day flower giving stems (pun intended) from an old-fashion custom introduced by Charles II of Sweden of sending non-verbal messages with floral bouquets with each flower having a specific meaning made it possible to have a conversation using only flowers.
