The Devil Made Me Do It

I sat on this partially done post for a long time and didn’t know when to use it so this is a good a time as any.  It’s Friday and another work week is ending. Who’s ready for some laughs?

Who here today remember Flip Wilson?  If you’re old enough then you probably remember the comedian’s variety show from the 70s. It was there I enjoyed Wilson’s The Devil Made Me Do It skit.

I remember as a kid, how every time I did something a little naughty, out came the phrase “The devil made me do it”.  I mostly said it out of silliness because if I knowingly did something wrong then I knew it wasn’t the devil that would get me, it was in the closet and out of the women’s room. lol

Anyhow, my favorite devil is wild ole Taz from my childhood favorite Saturday morning cartoons. I betcha remember Taz, right?  Are you a fan, if so then you might find it interesting to learn a bit about his career history and you’re sure to enjoy this nostalgic clip.

I was all set to play along with Friendly Fill-ins today but learned yesterday that Ellen’s (15andMeowing) beloved Prancie died on Wednesday who was with her human parents for 15-years.  That’s along time in kitty years!  Ellen is taking a hiatus to grieve the loss of yet another sweet furbaby.  She’s lost a few in the past year.  You’re in my prayers, dear friend. Prancie is chasing butterflies in heaven like a kitten once again!

Ellen’s partner in crime, Four-Legged Furballs (Lorraine) I discovered had the fill-ins, so I’m going to participate.  I think Prancie would like knowing that others are getting to know each other a little better with the four blank statements that her human mom and friend shared.

1. When I am old I want to have few regrets.  Thankfully, I have a long to go before I’m “old” but still I want to do all I can so I won’t say this much, “What would’ve happened if I did….?”

2. I want to get a better grip on my diet and exercise regime for the new year and after.  I’m getting at place where I’m dealing better with the holiday over-eating but still find it a challenge to thwart my sweet tooth at times. The real killer is the busyness that interferes with my exercising

3. No one knows me better than DH.  Actually, DH knows me better than I know myself. I mean, he knows things about me before to do. Like, going to the bathroom. He’ll always say every time we’re heading out the door, “You might want to go to the bathroom”, and I’m like, “I don’t think so.” And, he’ll say, “I think you should.” I cave each time and guess what? He’s right every time!

4. The well-being of my children is a thought that crosses my mind often.   I never could imagine when my children were at home that I’d be more concerned about them after they left the nest but it’s the not knowing because I’m not there 24/7 to see how they are doing. Young parents think once the house is empty their worries are gone but I say, that’s the beginning of the worse part.
