Weight Loss Encouragement

Weight  loss is a subject many of us can relate to.  It’s definitely a struggle, especially as we mature.  While I was scouring the net this morning searching for inspiration I to pass on to you, I found this little jewel of a site embracinghome.com .  The site isn’t solely dedicated to weight loss, but rather a site to help you embrace many aspects of your life.  I loved the charming layout and the author’s use of scripture to support her own weight loss management, which spoke to me.  That’s what I wanted to give to you.  The author also has a spot where you can sign up for a daily encouragement to be delivered to your email.

Also,  I stumbled on a cool app called Bible Encouragement for your iPhone, iPad, iTouch,… which gives you scripture for dealing with none other than weight loss.  You can learn more about it by visiting worldlinksapps.com.  I am definitely going to see if I can download this app to my MacBook.

Thanks to Patrice  @ Everyday Ruralty, she kindly hosts Wednesday Words of Weight Loss and today’s questions she asks are:

1. Do you consider cutting the grass relaxing or torture?  Once  upon a time, I consider cutting the lawn as a source of relaxation.  Unfortunately, I don’t seem to cherish these same sentiments for yard work.  Allergies to grass keep me from enjoying the outdoors, as I did years ago. Despite my problems, I do get outside to do some light gardening such as tend to my few flowers and blooming bushes.

2. Are you a fast eater or a slow one?  As a kid, I was a slow eater.  Often times, others considered I picked at my food, but that would imply I had selective tastes and that’s not correct.  I was a small child who filled easily, so I can see how one might misunderstand.  These days, I’m a middle of the road eater, not too slow and not too fast.  I accelerated my eating speed with the onset of children where you have to eat fast if you plan to ever eat again.  The truth of the matter is if you are a slow eater it’s better for your digestion and it will prevent you from over-eating. This allows your brain to catch up with your stomach sending a signal that says, “I’m full”.  Slow down and taste the  flour.

3. If you could travel to any country in the world to have the dinner of your choice, where would you go?(You wouldn’t have to pay a cent.)   I love Italian food.  I think I would like to go to Italy to get an authentic Italian meal.  The most thought of Italy cities would be Rome, Sicily, Venice, & Naples

4. Does your dining room table have place mats or a tablecloth right now?  I use tablecloths all the time.  Currently, I have my favorite one on the table of pine trees and moose.  I love this theme and relish the idea of having a log cabin in the mountains one day.  I do use placemats to protect my tablecloth because our dining room table is like Grand Central Station.  This is where everything happens – school, crafts, writing letters, etc.

 5. What’s the best positive thought you could tell yourself day in and day out? Will you be trying it?  Reminding myself, if I am worthy of God’s love, and I should love myself.  It’s up to me to make daily shifts in my personal critiquing to make sure I reach my weight loss goals for not only appearances but overall good health and well-being.  I only have one life and it’s my job to make the most of what I have.  If I treat myself well today, tomorrow I will reap the benefits.   And, yes I will try this as these words are what I live by every day. You deserve this, too!

Do you need daily encouragement?  As a Christian, I feel God’s word is chock full of beautiful words which can lift and motivate us to do great things. In truth, we can apply scripture to our daily challenges with weight loss, too.

Psalm 46:1-3
Psalm 46:7
Psalm 55:22
Psalm 62:6
Isaiah 41:10
2 Timothy 1:7
1 Peter 5:7
Philippians 4:13
