Friday Sillies #72 – Good Friday & Easter

No disrespect intended. God has a good sense of humor.
How do I know this? He created man!

Good Friday always seemed like an odd way to signify Jesus’ death on the cross. I mean what’s good about dying? The meaning became clear as I got older. Next time I am having a really rotten day, then I’m going to remember just how good my Fridays really are compared to Christ’s suffering on a thousands of years ago.

Let’s celebrate the joy that is bubbling inside because the weekend is here with some seriously good laughs!

At the start of the week, I was pretty certain that the Easter bunny might have to resort to hunting for grub this way….

This one is priceless….

The thoughts of Easter and its typical traditions sparked a distant childhood memory. Do you remember singing this?

Peter Cottontail
By Beatrix Potter

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,
Hippity, hoppity,
Easter’s on its way.

Bringin’ every girl and boy Baskets full of Easter joy,
Things to make your Easter bright and gay.
He’s got jelly beans for Tommy,
Colored eggs for sister Sue,
There’s an orchid for your Mommy
And an Easter bonnet, too.

Oh, here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,
Hippity, hoppity,
Happy Easter day.

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,
Look at him stop,
And listen to him say:
“Try to do the things you should.”
Maybe if you’re extra good,
He’ll roll lots of Easter eggs your way.

You’ll wake up on Easter morning
And you’ll know that he was there
When you find those choc’late bunnies
That he’s hiding ev’rywhere.

Oh, here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,
Hippity, hoppity,
Happy Easter day.

Have a safe and happy Easter holiday weekend. Keep smiling! 😉
