POP Chart Favorites from 1988 #music

This was the year DD#1 was born. In fact, she turned 27 yesterday. Happy Birthday, Brittany!

This morning, I’m dedicating my post to my sweet baby girl. Let’s listen to more POP Chart Favorites from 1988!

I have a black hole in my memory surrounding those early days as a new mommy. The week Brittany was born, Michael Jackson topped the chart for one week with Dirty Diana. Honestly, I do not remember this song, but it’s not one of my favorites by MJ s so I don’t feel I missed too much with its debate release.

Cheap Trick stayed on top for 2-weeks with The Flame (July 3-16), another one that escaped me somehow. I blame it on the late night feedings and diaper changing.

July 17-23, Richard Marx took the spotlight with Hold On To The Nights. I do remember this one, but whether it was from the original release date I can’t swear to it. I do like the song… a lot.

Steve Winwood rode the charts for 4-weeks (July 24 – August 20) with Roll With ItHowever, this is my favorite song from 1988. My memory is fuzzy on when this song actually registered with me.

Motherhood comes with a steep price. Working around the clock really did something to my brain or at least that’s the story I’m telling.  I wouldn’t change a thing, though. The lapses in my memory pale in comparison to all the other many wonderful memories motherhood gave me.  I’d gladly do it all over again, and again, and again.

What songs do you remember from 1988? Do  you have a black hole in your memory?
