Welcome to my Wednesday’s meme round-up! The work week is half way through. Whoo-hoo, right? Why not join me in some hump-day fun with any of these blog hops below.
Patrice’s questions this week are:
- Can you resist Easter candy? Do I look like a goddess? Absolutely not, especially the Robin Eggs. I love those little tasty crunchy sweet pieces of heaven! I’ve eliminated this problem by simply not placing the temptation in our home. This way, I have no choice in resisting because there is nothing to resist. Smart thinking, huh?
-
Have you ever purchased a piece of exercise equipment? Years ago, we bought a rowing machine. My husband was primarily interested in this, but I gave it a try. However, it didn’t work too well for me. We are now on our second stationary bike. I ride it daily for an hour.
-
When you’re in a store, do you use the escalator/ elevator or do you take the stairs? I prefer taking the stairs if they are not in an isolated stairwell. However, 99% of the time, I walk up an escalator and not ride it.
-
Do you promise yourself anything as an incentive to lose weight? Who hasn’t? I’m secretly telling myself, if I can get these last stubborn pounds off then I’m going to think about having a tummy tuck. I think I’m basically lying to myself because this procedure is going to be too pricey and I’m basically a chicken. I don’t like the idea of surgery.
- Is there a friend you haven’t heard from in a long time that you’d like to connect with? Yes… I have a lovely, dear friend who lives in Florida who I have failed miserably with keeping better contact with over the last several months. I should have at least sent her an email by now to check in with her, but I’ve been too busy with everything to tend to my cyber mail. I use to be so good about this, too. I hope she’ll forgive me. I know she will because as I said, she’s such a dear. But…shame on me, right? Bad friend, Cathy, bad friend!
21. The mornings in which I can go back to bed to catch a couple of hours of sleep.
22. A husband who encourages me to get my much-needed rest when he knows he can’t do the same.
23. My independent daughters who are seeking to find their way in life, even though the path sometimes they trod isn’t the best.
24. A son who is willing to help around the house. To do the chores that most young boys do and then some added ones.
25. Music. Every day is made a little brighter with a variety of melodies. Some tunes relax and others energize. Music is a beautiful gift to mankind.
26. Our five senses – the gift of sight – to see our world and those we love, the gift of sound – to hear the glorious music of nature or the sweet voices of our children, the gift of smell – to enjoy an abundant of delightful fragrances which fill our soul with comfort and goodness, the gift of taste – from the basic necessities to pleasure food not only replenish our bodies, but excite us mentally and physically, and the gift of touch – to sense the breeze on our skin or caress another’s sweet hand are moments to be treasured.
27. Family and friends near or far for their care and support.
28. An active lifestyle – ride my bicycle, play tennis, shoot baskets, quiet walks, cardio-aerobics, house chores, cooking, and more. I am blessed with good physical health.
29. The worth of education made available through the Internet or other resources on how to better improve my health and of my family.
30. The slow growing extension in our daylight hours, which fills my being with exuberance. These are the moments to relish every second of every day.
What are you thankful today?
