#AtoZChallenge Creating iPad Art Sketches Letter “T”

Hello, Kitten & Dawgs!  How was your weekend?  Mine was good, no complaints here. I just can’t believe how terribly fast this month is zipping past us, though.  Are you having a terrific time visiting new and old bloggers?  I’m loving it!  In case this is your first time here, let me say last year I challenged myself to venture outside my comfort zone to pick up my pencil to create art sketches for the first time and this time last year I sketched a treehouse.   This year, I’m went high-tech with my iPad, Apple pencil, and drawing app Procreate to create my sketches and today, I’m sharing a cute Turtle Couple.

This week’s mewsic theme is Earth Day song picks on Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me and you’re invited to hit the dance floor with my co-hosts, XmasDolly (Party Coordinator), Stacy, and filling in for Colette (taking a break due to illness) is our pawsome friend, Michelle!

I don’t  think you need a special day to celebrate the earth. I think it’s our responsibility to take care of our world just like we do ourselves, our children, our cars, our home. God gave it to us, so it’s up to us to treat it right. I am limiting my song choices to one song today. I know folks don’t have a lot of time to spend on one blog and not wanting to risk frustration on anyone’s part here’s a just a brief history on Green Green Grass of Home.  Claude “Curly” Putman,  Jr wrote the song and country artist, Johnny Darrell, recorded it first but it was Porter Wagnor‘s cover that catapult this little ditty in the charts in 1965.  That same Tom Jones appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show and inquired about new mewsic by rock legend, Jerry Lee Lewis. He was impressed with this song after listening to Lewis’ Country Songs by City Folks album so much that he covered it the following year. It hit the top of the UK chart in December of 1966. Here’s Tom Jones singing Green Green Grass of Home.

It just occurred to me that my artist’s first name begins with the A2Z letter prompt. lol Don’t you just love it when things tie together so neatly?

Whew, I was just about to forget to announce last week’s BoTB winner. To recap, I used three different nap time/bedtime lullabies in my battle. Here’s the break down of how it went. I had a heck of time deciding on my favorite but in the end I think the one that spoke to my heart the sweetest.

Sir Elton ‘Blessed’ respectfully secured Mary, Lee, and Alana’s votes for a total of 3.

Bette Midler ‘Baby Mine’ commanded John, Tom, Eugenia, Marie, Stephen, and My attention taking a whooping 6 votes.

Billy Joel ‘Lullaby Goodnight My Angel’ earned Ellen, Sandee, Kim,  Mimi, & Birgit’s affections giving him 5 votes.

Patti Smith ‘The Jackson Song’ (write-in entry) from my rebel buddy, Cathy. Wouldn’t you know it we share the same name spelling? lol

Bette Midler steals the showdown with her heart-stirring lullabye and so, I’ll leave you with this YouTube Greatest Hits playlist and mark your calendar for May 1st for my next BoTB!
