Welcome Kittens & Dawgs! The last couple of weeks I’ve shared photos taken in April while visiting Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Days before arriving, we had some heavy rainfalls. The muddy pond is evidence that they did not escape the downpours
I’m joining the Wednesday Hodgepodge community this morning to answer the following six questions posed by our host, Joyce. This is an excellent way to get to know your fellow blogger and you’re invited to play along.
- What happens to the mail at your house? Usually, most of the stuff we get goes straight into the trash. We don’t let mail pile up.

Something you always splurge on? Any guilt associated with the splurge? I can’t think of anything I splurge on all the time. Okay, I guess my guilt pleasure is ice cream. Anytime I can try a new ice cream shop that makes their own then I’m all in for it!

There are many, but what are two important questions you think every bride and groom should ask/answer before they plan their walk down the aisle? Q#1, are there any traits or habits that he/she does that I can’t live with? I’ve seen over the years girls in particular going into a relationship with the notion that she can fix something about her guy. Well…that very rarely happens. So, she either needs to accept that truth and live with it or not be so quick to give her heart away. Of course, if they are fixing to walk down the aisle then taking back her heart isn’t going to be so easy. Q#2, You’re fixing to get married. Divorce isn’t an option EVER, are you ready to live forever with this person? In our world of instant this and that, marriage vows aren’t taken as seriously as they did years ago. We need to instill in our kids that marriage is an important institution and it’s nothing to take lightly.

What’s the best advice your father ever gave you? I’m not sure but I’d say it’s something along the line of always listen to God and that’s definitely some purrrty darn good advice!

Your favorite movie where a father features heavily in the storyline? I’m going to assume, THE GODFATHER isn’t the kind of father feature film for this question so now that’s knocked off my list then I reckon I’d have to say FATHER OF THE BRIDE I and II. I remember seeing the first one when our daughters were really young. I cried my eyes out. I just couldn’t image that ever happening and then it did! Oh how they grow up so darn fast! I always wanted to scream, “STOP IT ALREADY!” I’m sure that wouldn’t help any.

Insert your own random thought here. Last week’s ‘painters’ inspired playlist influenced today’s art sketch that I call Starry Night Pond. Perhaps, this is where my Moonlight Swans fell in love.
What’s interesting is the above drawing I orginally sketched with a daytime backdrop. Don’t worry that picture is completely intact. Maybe, I’ll share it next week. 😉
