Megan Brickwood is in the house

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays! On the “Marie News”, I was happy to find an email in my box last week stating she’s doing better as far as her pneumonia goes and is doing a lot of sleeping which is expected when sick.  She has an appointment tomorrow for a chest x-ray.  Let’s pray that she gets good news and is soon back to feeling completely well.

Before I jump into today’s song picks, I wanted to answer this past Tuesday 4 questions.  I can’t seem to get back into the groove of joining this Q&A session.  Anne asked the T4 group:

  1. What kind of music do you like the best? Let me say I’m a lover of all music but overall I’m a classic rock n’ roll chick, not chicken just to qualify.
  2.  Does the radio play in your car and if so what station or kind of music plays? Does music play in your home often?  We do have the radio on frequently in the car.  I usually just let DH do what he wants with it but often he tunes to a music station.  He flips through channels on Sirius sometimes likes he does on the TV.  I can’t keep up with them.  Yes, I have music playing daily in my home following through my headset.  Obviously, participating each Monday is a clear indicator that I’ve got the music. 🙂
  3. What do you think of the music played in restaurants or stores? Do you find it relaxing or annoying?  I like music played in public if it’s not super loud.  I like for it to background noise so-to-speak which should be softly played so to not overpower conversation while having a meal or talking to a salesclerk.  If music is public places is played right then it’s very nice.  Often setting the perfect mood for dining or creating a more festive shopping experience.  Heck, I even like elevator music if it’s beautiful and softly aired.
  4.  What part has music played in your life? What kind of music played at your wedding or at parties you have been to? Music offers escape and comfort, it even fills my soul with joy!  At our wedding, DH’s best friend, Tony, a gifted musician sang for two of our favorite Bread songs: “If” and “Sweet Surrender”.  Tony’s style then was very much like David Gates.

The theme this week is whatever music moves you with your song choice picks.

January’s special guest hostess!

This is a music linky party. The co-hostess are: Marie, Stacy, Alana, and me.  Every other week we have a suggested music theme (see weekly prompts here) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our music enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

Last year bloggy bud, Amy, shared a new-to-me artist and today is the perfect time to take off the shelf the song that first intrigued me, Northern Country Line

Megan Brickwood is a native Californian and alternative folk singer/songwriter living in LA.  She grew up in the remote wildness in the northern part of the state with music influences ranging from classical to the 60s and 70s inspiring her blossoming works that seem to transport me backward in time.   Let’s continue listening to Megan with the mini playlist Where the Wind Lays Heavy and a single video of her song, Slow Moving Water.

Where the Wind Lays Heavy song tracks: 1. Patchwork Sky 2. You’ll Never Know 3. Where the Wind Lays Heavy 4. The Red Road
“Slow Moving Water” Megan Brickwood

What new music discoveries have you come across lately?  I’d love some suggestions!

I hope you enjoyed Megan Brickwood’s music.  I appreciated everyone who came to the dance party this month.  It was fun to be the spotlight dancer and I hope you liked the song prompts even if last Monday’s was a bit tricky.  Next time you swing by we’ll have a brand new featured co-hostess.  This is CAAC signing off, up next is my Feb. 1st BOTB and I want you to be a part of the voting process!  Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy
