Angela and I would like to welcome you to another edition of WAYBACK WEDNESDAYS!
Today, we’re looking at the year…
What comes to mind when you think back only a short year ago?
This is what comes to mind…
- In March Japan’s tsunami was the deadliest disaster since the 1995 Great Hanshin earthquake. By September 11 the count stood: 15,850 deaths, 6,011 injured, and 3,287 missing. Loss of life unmeasured – property damage millions of dollars – a horribly scary tragedy with three severely damaged nuclear reactors in the mix.
- The good news is the world became a little better place to live with Gaddafi and Bin Laden’s deaths. Is there global peace at last? Not hardly but when evil people’s existence is no more, then one can’t help to feel a sense of relief.
- Norway’s shooting death of 69 at a youth summer camp left the world stunned to learn it wasn’t just an act of international terrorism but a deeply disturbed Norwegian political extremist.
- Amy Winehouse’s death somewhat stunned the country but honestly when someone has a history of drug abuse then one can’t be too surprised. It’s not a question IF it’ll happen, it just a matter of WHEN will it happen. Honestly, I never heard of the singer before until she died. It’s always sad when someone so young throws his/her life and talents away like Amy Winehouse. Nothing ever good becomes of drug use period. Just say NO to drugs!
- On a personal note, I became the proud owner of an Apple iPhone4 – my first ever smartphone! I’m totally addicted and can’t ever imagine going back to a regular mobile phone again.
- Adele hit the musical hot spot, popping up all over the place last year. One of my favorites.
Now, it’s time to look at others’ Wayback Wednesday flashbacks. Why not join the fun, simply create your own 2011 post and link up. It’s that easy! Wanna a return following or visit? Then, leave us a comment and we’ll do the favor in like kind.
This concludes the Wayback Wednesday flashbacks but we’re not disappearing. Nope, Angela wants to keep WW afloat by featuring her favorite music picks for the week. Music is like medicine for the soul. Come back and get in on the fun next Wednesday!
