SWF: Courthouse clock

Posted on August 21, 2014

Funny, every time I think of courthouse clocks it reminds me of Back to the Future. What about you?

south end of the street looking north

This morning’s SWF view I am taking you back to Tennessee’s oldest city, Jonesborough. I featured this community a couple of times, most recently this past April. If you missed it, then you can take a peek here. This is Jonesborough’s downtown historic district.

I’m drawn to the courthouse clock this visit.

I even captured a nice reflection below.

Sharing this photo with Weekend Reflections

From the north end of the Main Street, I decided to take the below picture. The power or phone lines distracted my view but I didn’t let that stop me from taking the shot. I simply worked around it.

Linking my B&W photo with The Weekend in Black and White hop…maybe. I did some photo-editing to drop the noise. I haven’t perfected the technique but I am happy with the results. Please be kind, if you enlarge my image and see my flaws.
Pictured is my father-in-law because his car while on leave. He's visiting his folks in southern WV. Doesn't he look sharp? There is something about a man in a uniform that makes him look, especially handsome looking, don't you think?

Before you go, you may want to link your photographic wonder to this week’s WW linkup party, here. Thank you for making me apart of your day.  Please leave your comments footprints so that I know you came and I will hop over to your place soon.

Wonderful shots! I almost stopped in Jonesborough last October on my way from Texas to Pennsylvania. Now I really wish I would have had more time.

Really like the black and white shots. It takes time to really edit black and whites.

What a beautifully preserved old town and you bet I think of “Back to the Future” when I see a courthouse clock. Especially an old relic like this one … and your reflection is perfect. I love it all …

I’m definitely thinking of Back to the Future looking at that quaint town. It looks a lot like the one in the movie.
