In the above picture, you can see a body of water in the background. This is Big Ridge Lake in Big Ridge State Park north of Knoxville about 30-minutes. Many of the roads were off-limits to public access, so I couldn’t get the photograph I wanted.
In the fall, I want to return to Big Ridge when it’s less crowded so we can walk out some of the closed off roads for a photo session. It was horribly hot over the long 4th of July weekend and although I would love to beat the heat in the water, you won’t find me in a lake. It looks inviting, but not enough to persuade this kitten to take a deep in untreated water.
I know you’re laughing your socks off at me and that’s okay. I’m good being the odd ball. What ever keeps ya happy and helps you to sleep better at night, I say.
I snapped this lovely little jewel in June.

Before you go, you may want to link your photographic wonder to my WW linkup party, here. Thank you for making me apart of your day. Please leave your comments footprints so that I know you came and I will hop over to your place soon. Have a fototastic day!

Girl I’m right there with you: I may dip a toesy in but nothing more. And I hate it when I can’t get positioned for the shot I want. Your East Tennessee Autumn trails photos will be fantastic, though. Happy weekend.
It’s nice to see someone understands where I’m coming from on the whole not wanting to take a dip in nasty water. 😀
You may not have got the shot you wanted but your photos are still great. I’m like you, the days of swimming in lakes, rivers, streams and such are over.
Aw, thanks! It’s good to see you’re also a like-minded individual regarding no swimming in untreated bodies of water. It gives me the creeps thinking about people who do it and not think about people’s sewage dumping into these creeks, rivers, lakes,… Totally nasty!
Great photos, I especially love your magnolia pic; lovely 🙂
Magnolia blooms are pretty. I want to try my luck photographing them again.
Beautiful post. I love the Blue Ridge. I love Magnolias, too.
East Tennessee is a beautiful area, but you get a lot of opportunities that many do not get traveling across the country with your hubs in a rig. Now, that’s an interesting way to see America! 😉
so peaceful looking, beautiful!
It really is peaceful.
