June has vanished like a snap of the finger. I’m feeling refreshed from my little hiatus, but just a bit out of sorts on what today’s theme. Hey, that doesn’t bother me, though. I know it’s all about the tunes and none of us are music snobs here. Without further ado, let’s get this party celebration on!
Thanks for joining us for another week Monday’s Music Moves Me! On behalf of the lovely Dancing Queen, Marie @XmasDolly and her Solid Gold dancers ~ Callie @JAmericanSpice, Stacy @Stacy Uncorked, Naila Moon @Just the stuff ya know & myself , I want to invite you to step on the dance floor with the 4M crew.
Let’s give a round of applauds (and a visit would be nice, too) to this week’s Spotlight Dancer listed at #1 and remember to link your 4M URL below to join in on the fun!
Before you leave, I’d like to share one last song. It’s not a dance song. My MIL sang this to our children when they were small. Why she did, I can’t tell you. It doesn’t matter they loved listening to their her voice.
Last Monday, we laid her to rest and I’m certain the angels sang this very tune, as they carried her home. God-bye, Dorothy! You’ll be missed, but I know you’re in heaven. What a spectacular reunion it must have been for you on the other side. You were a wonderful mother to me and I love you! Thanks, dear friends for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. They were very much felt and appreciated. Please continue to keep my sweet FIL lifted up. He really needs them.
Next stop… your place! What music moves you?

I would be happy with any prize. Thank you for this opportunity.
One of my favorite songs, and my favorite prize is the wine 🙂
It’s not too late to get a musical post up (that is if you haven’t already) to enter our contest! We’d love to see you on the dance floor with the 4M crew!
Sending you prayers for your loss.
Thank you for the prayers. Say a special one for my father-in-law, Austin, if you would. Losing the love of his life has been really difficult and we are concerned about him. All we can do is trust God in these things.
Pure nostalgia. Great selection.
Glad you like the music! Feel free to hit the dance floor anytime. There’s always room for one more. 😉
Oh oh oh! Chicago! I love all you picks, but Chicago is definitely my favorite. 😉 Happy 200th, Cathy! Thanks for being an awesome dance partner – here’s to 200 more! 🙂
Chicago is a hard to beat band of all times, in my opinion. This was one of my favorite groups from the 70s. It’s been real fun dancing with you week after week, Stacy!
Lovin’ the Tunes there girlfriend and thank you so much for stickin’ it out with me! WE ROCK GOOD TOGETHER DON’T WE? hehehehe I use to sing that song to my kids when they were little too! Wow what a coincidence! hahaha Gotta hop on sweetie I’m way behind today! 🙁
Wow, that is a coincidence that you liked singing Swing Low, Sweet Chariot to your kids! Like I said, I thought it was odd my MIL chose this song to sing to the kiddies, but they loved it and now we have that precious memory. Keep rockin’ on, girlfriend!
Lovin the summer tunes!! So Great. and so sorry to hear about your MIL — but you definitely choose an amazing song to pay tribute. Etta is one of my all time faves. Happy 200th – woot!!
Thanks, Les! Etta James was an amazing talent. I was happy to find her rendition of this old hymnal. Thanks for celebrating with the 4M crew! 😉
I love your choice of summer songs! 🙂
I love the kitty in your header and the little kitty with the headphones on!
Great summer songs, though sadly, were I on the boat pictured in the Seals & Crofts video, I’d be hurling over the edge rather than having fun. Old Helena has no sea legs!
My late uncle used to sing Swing Low Sweet Chariot. I miss hearing his voice.
Thank you kindly for visiting KHEL 666.
We’ve been rocking tunes for such a long time!!!
Happy 200….enjoy the celebrations
Yes, we have! 😀
Oh boy did I have a crush on John Travolta back in the day. I still love Grease. 🙂
Who didn’t have a crush on John Travolta? lol
Brilliant choices i just love Grease a nice feel good film, i like Chicago, the Etta James version of Swing Low Sweet Chariot is one of the best 😉
Have a tanfabulously fun week Cathy and thanks for waltzing by 😉
It’s always a pleasure to hop over to listen to your retro picks each week.
What a good legacy to pass on.
My hugs and condolences to you and your family Cathy.
So glad you could join with us today in music and share such a lovely song that will always hold memories to you!
Thanks, Callie! Celebrating my MIL’s life is what I want to do. She’s in heaven now free of worry and pain. I can’t imagine the celebrating going on on the other side, can you? Now, that’s the ultimate celebration party! 😉
Great summer songs; I especially love Chicago. I’m ready for your contest to start. It sounds good.

Chicago is a band that never goes out of style. Oh yeah, the contest is going to be super duper! Be sure to enter each and everyone! 😉
Great summer songs, I love then all. Your kids have tastes, if they loved Swing Low Sweet Chariot…good for them. Congrats on being a co-host for this 200th Week Celebration, woo hoo! So much fun! Have a great week!
I must admit, my kids do have good taste in music. They loved all of our chooses over the years. In fact, many times kids their ages were clueless to old stuff and parents of these kids were shocked that they even liked it. Now, as for Swing Low Sweet Chariot… not only will I have this sweet memory, but our kids will, too.
