Something Unexpected

Posted on May 7, 2025

Imagine while going through images I thought I shared, but didn’t to find something unexpected in this photo taken from July 2021 in the mountains. We stopped at the first overlook pass Newfound Gap heading toward Cherokee, North Carolina in the Smoky Mountains.  It was a beautiful day!

Do you see the surprise? It’s a selfie…well, my shadow selfie.

 Have a wonderful day!

A Waterfall along the Upper Tremont Road in the Smoky Mountains

Good-day, kittens & dawgs! You may remember my absence in a couple of Fridays ago. I played hooky in cyberspace in favor of spending it in God's beautiful world. It was an absolute gorgeous sunny, spring-like day. To set things right, I’m sharing this photo with the SWF team! Waterfall…

The Smoky Mountains

I created a desktop wallpaper to share with y'all.  I found an orphaned image that I doodled up using an photo-editor that I no longer use and meant to put up on my site but that didn't happen. It had my old blog name on that creation, so I did…

It was a particularly beautiful day. Sometimes, we can go through here and the clouds hang ominously over the mountains while there is fair weather in the valley. Just a few miles on the TN side you turn to go to Clingmans Dome, the highest point in the Smoky’s. The climate there is similar to southern Canada. We’ve seen it snowing there in May, which is crazy wild!

Snow in May is crazy, for sure! That said, we are very slow to warm up this year.

You better get out of the middle of the road!
I’m serious!! People have been known to get hit by cars that way.

While I stood in that spot, my shadow self got flattened several times. I came out no worse for wear leaving me with this interesting capture. 🙂
