Saturday Songsuasion Daydream The Lovin’Spoonful

During the British Invasion two Long Island rockers, Steve Boone and Joe Butler, got together with two folk artists, John Sebastian and Zal Yankovsky, from Greenwich Village to form The Lovin’ Spoonful.

Combining the sound of rock n’ roll with a folksy-country flavor set these Yanks on the charts during the mid-60s with these pop hits: Do You Believe in Magic, You Didn’t Have To Be So Nice, Nashville Cats, and Summer in the City.

In celebration of the first day of  spring, I thought it was fitting to share a song from their album with the same name, Daydream!

#2 on 1966 Billboard Hot 100 List
