Saturday Song-suasion #31~ Van Morrison

The luck of the Irish is still with us, as I continue bringing to you another week of musical talent from the Emerald Isle. When I began researching artists and bands, I found a few surprises like Van Morrison is from Ireland. Did you know?

If you don’t know the name, I bet you will know this song by Morrison.

This song is quite popular, and yet the rest of Morrison’s songs somehow slipped by me over the years. Here are a couple new-to-me top oldies I discovered.

  1. I knew! Into the Mystic and Days Like This are two of my faves! I used to fall asleep to Van Morrison in university to drown out the noises of my dorm. Him and James Taylor, or Cat Stevens. Worked like a charm.

    1. James Taylor and Cat Stevens…yep those are fabulous artists. Dorm life has to be a bit crazy. Our first year that we were married, we rented a trailer. One our neighbors, although quite nice, loved to throw loud boozing parties on the weekends. Thankfully, as I said he was over all a nice fellow and when we asked him to tone it down, he obliged us. Thanks for the tip on the rock version of Brown Eyed Girl. I’ll check it out!
