How’s everyone doing? All is well here. In fact, all is great. I’m feeling accomplished after last week’s productive week. I posted nearly every day and while this probably won’t happen too often, it felt good. Another thing is I’m using my elliptical, now this is something I want to do often. An active life is a healthy one!
Anywho, I’m so glad y’all stopped by. Before we get to boogieing on the dance floor, I need to pass on how things went down in my From Me to You BOTB. The vote was tight. That’s always a positive thing that I’m doing something right. The battle ended in a tie thus no winner declared. To recap how everyone voted.
Earl – Debbie, John, Sandee, Eugi, Birgit, Stephen
Jerry – Lee, Terry, Mimi, Diedre, Ed, Me
Thanks to everyone who played along. My next battle is scheduled for March 1st, so mark your calendar.
Now moving onto the dance floor, welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays! This week’s theme is Valentine’s Day songs or red themed tunes!
I decided to look for red song titles. I know what you’re thinking when you read my post title, “Oh know she’s gotta twany country tune!” You’ll be happy to know that’s not the case. In fact, I stumbled on an oldie from the 80s that flew right past me back in the day.
Roses Are Red by Mac Band featuring The McCampbell Brothers released Jun 10, 1988. The song is from the groups’ debut album and is the most successful of their six singles, peaking #6 on the Billboard Hot Black Singles and while it didn’t make it on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, it made it on the UK Singles chart at #8.
In my defense, I was two weeks from motherhood and am tributing Mommy Brain to the reason why this song is new to me. Whatever the cause for it not making it to my ears, I really loved the sound!
Music themes are only suggestions. I don’t care one what kind of music it is, as long as you share music. Now, it’s your turn!

Valentine’s Day is within sight. I’m unsure what I’ll do just, but it might involve baking DH something. I figure I can’t go wrong with a sweet treat for my sweetheart. That’s a wrap this time. Have a boogietastic week!

Personally, I hate when I have BOTB ties. I always feel like it was a waste of time. (Imagine buying expensive tickets to a Super Bowl and the game somehow ended in a tie.) BUT!… there’s no denying that a BOTB tie is indicative of (really) a perfect match-up conceived by the BOTBer! So, congratulations on your perfection, CAThy!
See ya soon.

Great battle. I always enjoy your battles.
Awww on the red roses and that adorable kitten. I did say Awww.
Love the video. A toe tapper.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs, Cathy. ♥
That is the perfect song for this week. Very nice. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Great outcome for the battle, and a good match up since it was a tie. Have a great week ahead!
Thanks for checking in and you do the same, my friend!
This is a great song and I remember it, CK. I also remember the clothes they wear in those days, so much fun, so much dancing, those were the days…WOW
We love that little figurine
Double Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead and now let’s dance right on… yeah…

I was in college at the time and have never heard this. XO
As a life long music lover I’m always impressed by the number of songs I never heard of LOL!
I didn’t know the roses song either, but I don’t listen to that kind of stuff as a rule. Never even heard of the group. Oh well, no big loss.
I’m feeling lousy today. Didn’t even go to church this morning because I didn’t want to be sniffling and coughing.
Good outcome for your Battle. Close like my own.

There’s been a lot of people sick lately. I hope you feel better soon, Lee. Take it easy and get well, my friend. Thanks for dropping by!
If it’s a tie, it was probably a good match-up, at least it seems that way. Thanks for the fun music!
Yeah, I suppose so! Thanks for stopping in to see how the voting went.
I didn’t have Mommy Brain, and I don’t remember the song, either. Good to be introduced to it now. I liked the late 80’s sound of this song. Alana ramblinwitham
Overall I prefer the late 80s sound from that era. Some great music came out of it!
