This is the second annual Roctober Mewsic Festival hosted by Mary from Jingle Jangle Jungle and I’m happy to join along with her in the fun.
Today, I’m sharing with you an unlikely band pick. I like to call them rebels of country mewsic, The Charlie Daniels Band. About the only song I know well by them is The Devil Went Down to Georgia. I stumbled on this song after looking for song lyrics containing the word, ‘October’ and I really liked it so I’m featuring Reflections from their 1979 Million Miles Reflections album.
That concludes the month and another year of Rocktober Mewsic. Y’all be safe out on the road tonight and watch for trick or treaters, especially the later. There’s a whole of stupid gonna on out there and the Ghostbuster can’t get zap it away. I just know a couple of his songs – Devil Went Back to Georgia, The Devil Comes Back, Simple Man –this is so different. Don’t quite know what to make of it, but I have to respect the tribute he is making in the song. Wow, you made the entire month, didn’t you? Weather playing a nice trick on us tonight – 70 degrees at 8:40 pm (must have been a record – we got to 72 today) heavy rains, thunderstorms, flash flood warning. Not too much stupid except for any child out there tonight!
I’m not familiar with this tune, but I do know about Charlie Daniels band. A great song to use to reflect on the past month. Thank you so very much for your dedication to posting every day in the #RocktoberMusicFest. Looking forward to doing it again next year.
