In December 1970, The Osmonds recorded One Bad Apple landing it the #1 spot for five weeks on the Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart in 1971. This song was written by George Jackson with the Jackson 5 in minded. At the time of its debute many people thought it the Jackson 5. It wasn’t until later the Jackson 5 covered the popular tune.
Did you have a good time on the dance floor? I did. Next stop… your place! What food tunes move you?
Be sure to come back next week to dance with the 4M crew for freebie style music, and if you can’t get enough then join me right here for Saturday Song-suasion!

I was by far more an Osmond fan.
I kept playing little bits at a time from each. That is amazing!
Two very good choices!
Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed week!
Blimey I haven’t heard One Bad Apple for years I didn’t know Jackson Five actually did a recording of it I agree they sound literally identical it’s definitely the same backing track 🙂
Have a an appletastic week 🙂
So, you come to think of One Bad Apple as The Osmonds song. Every time I hear it or think of it, the Jackson 5 always come to mind. I am a bit surprised that both groups recorded the same song relatively close together. It makes me wonder which one did the best on sells. Have any idea?
How did I ever miss “One Bad Apple” – I’m over here racking my brain trying to think up food songs. Great choice, love both renditions Michael’s and the Osmonds. Happy Monday~
Oh my gosh – it was almost impossible to tell them apart. But I think the musical style definitely suits the Jackson 5 better.
that’s about a close a musical race as I’ve ever heard though.
I don’t know if I even knew at the time both groups recorded this song, but I always associated it with the Jackson 5 and you’re right this style suits them better than the Osmonds.
Holy Cow! They really do sound identical I thought you made a mistake or you tube did, and then as I was reading… and you said they sounded alike… I mean they really do so how can I pick which do I like when they sound the same? hehee Good one Cathy! YOU SO ROCK!
