Old Enough

This week’s 4M theme is whatever music moves you! I was reminded a little while back of a young artist who began her public singing career at the age of 7 on Norway’s Got Talent in 2014.  I visited her YT channel to discover an original song I enjoyed.  Let’s give it for Angelina Jordan!

Playlist Tracks: 1. Love Don’t Let Me Go 2. Now I’m The Fool 3. Fire And Rain 4. All My Fault 5. Good In Goodbyes 6. Diamond

In my opinion, the first tracks of Angelina’s album playlist are perfect for her vocal style and I’d love to hear more along this line.  She’s still a kitten in the industry who has plenty of time to grow into a beautiful lioness with Billboard chart hits.

What music is moving you today?

The 4M co-hostess are featured in my right side bar underneath the banner. The guidelines are simple.  Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. YouTube and other music sites have options to create and embed playlists or individual songs into your post. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you (your choice)! To access the party, add your music post below, and visit others on the dance floor. Let the party begin!

This is a music link up.  Your post must contain at least one song, if not your URL is marked “NO MUSIC” or worse deleted.

I’ll close things with one more track I found on YouTube that caught my ear, “Our Time”.

Today is my nephew’s 34th birthday.  Happy Birthday, J!

U.S. Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit the week my nephew was born

Just a reminder on Friday, I published another BOTB in my Beatles Greatest Hits Song series.  I’ll be back next with a new edition of Wordless Wednesday.  Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. We didn’t know Angelina, but the way she sings reminds me of a two other singers, but I don’t remember their names🙈 Happy Birthday to your nephew🎉 and now to the mousie…can we have him🐭🙊 Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day, CK🐾😽💞

  2. I have never heard of this artist. I like her music. Happy belated birthday to your nephew.

I came back because of a question you had that I didn’t understand. You asked “Have you considered allowing comment sign-in option name/url instead of Google? I want to get completely away from using my gmail. Just a thought!”

I am not sure what you are asking. I have no control over google/blogger. I would have to change platforms if I were to do what you are asking. Maybe you could elaborate on your question.

    1. It’s been a long time since I used Blogger but on other blogspot sites that has this feature operational, it’ll ask when “Comment as” from which I can select Google, Anonymous, or Name/URL. This is something you need to do in your Blogspot settings. I hope that helps. I’m sorry for the confusion. I just thought I’d ask if you ever considered. 🙂 I will send you a screen shot from a friend’s site who has this enabled, so you can see what I’m referring to. 😉

  3. Love both videos. I’ll try to do MMMM this month. Busy here.

Awww on that cutie pie. You have to stop and smell the flowers.

  4. I thought I was listening to Amy Whitehouse at first…she is excellent. Happy Birthday to your nephew and hope it’s a beautiful day love the cute mouse

    1. Ughh..it is supposed to be Winehouse…stupid phone corrections

  5. Happy 34th to your nephew. Doesn’t time fly quickly? Jordan has an interesting, mature voice. I always feel a bit of sadness when I see great talent in a young person on a talent show. So much can go wrong. So many wrong paths can be taken. Will they avoid those paths? I hope Jordan does. Alana ramblinwitham

  6. Hi, Cathy!

Happy March 2024 and happy paw-some 4-M Monday on Sunday, dear friend! I hope by now your DD has recovered, that you are AOK following those pesky dental procedures, and that you, DH and family are well and in good spirits and having a nice weekend.

Awww… I just wanna smooch that little mouse critter pictured at the end of the post!

WOW! – I must say that I am stunned after listening to the recordings of this young vocalist, Angelina Jordan. (Tell your LA about her.) For one thing, she looks like she could be Elvis Presley’s granddaughter but, as you pointed out, she is Norwegian. Secondly, she sounds like a seasoned 40-year old black jazz singer, but is a white teenager, only18. Clearly,
Angelina is one of those deep feeling “old souls” that can authentically channel the singing greats of the past including Billie “Lady Sings the Blues” Holiday. I love Angelina’s husky vocal style and “glottal fry”- the technique of letting her voice “crack” as she sings. I also admire the choice of black & white film on those first two videos, conveying the impression that they are vintage mid 20th century performances. Moreover, Angelina is part of the solution, working to raise money for environmental causes and children’s charities. Amazingly, she always performs barefoot after giving her shoes to a young shoeless girl. What an amazing young woman! Thanks for introducing her.

    Happy birthday to nephew J!

I am returning with a new post and another three day blogging stint this Tuesday In the meantime, I will look for your band battle and cast my vote. Have a great week and month of March, dear friend Cathy!
