No Howling, Strange Sounds, or Bumps In the Night, Please!

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus

There ain’t any Dead Man’s Bones rattling in my blog and you won’t find any Big Scary going-ons with my song picks with the Scary Band Names or Songs Relating To Night Creatures theme, but you will find a whole lot of good sounds. Today, I’m bringing to you, two new discoveries. Despite any part of of the groups’ names, there’s nothing creepy or scary about them.  I hope you like them, as much as I do.

Big Wolf Band, a UK blues band with their #1 Amazon charting album, A Rebel’s Story.
The Los Angeles Indie soul band, Caught a Ghost, with their debut album, Human Nature.
Mix playlist of songs by “owl” band names. Did you see my cute little owl sketch in last week’s post?
This is a music link up.  Your post must contain at least one song or your URL is marked “No Music”.

4M co-hostess are featured in my right side bar underneath the banner.  The guidelines are simple.  Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. YouTube and other music sites have options to create and embed playlists or individual songs into your post. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you (your choice)! To access the party, add your music post below, and visit others on the dance floor. Let the party begin!

I used a few “Halloween Themed Band Names” mentioned on Billboard.com mostly because it was a good work in with my intro. What I discovered was the groups have an interesting sound which picquet my curiosity to learn a little about them.  Dead Man’s Bones is a gothic rock duo consisting of actor Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields. Their self-titled album released in 2009.

Big Scary is an Australian modern day folk music duo formed in Melbourne in 2006, by Tom Iansek and Joanna Syme. The pair have released several EPs and five studio albums.

A funny Sparks contribution that’ll make you smile.

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself… and spiders.” Unknown

I’m changing my post publishing time to 8am from this point forward. I’m taking song prompts now for 2024 and am asking for anyone with suggestions to send them straight away. No monthly co-hosting commitment is required unless that’s what you want to do and as always, contributors will receive credit for his/her offering. Next year’s calendar is pretty open. You can check out my new 4M Theme Prompts page anytime! Join me mid-week for two posts, first November 1st BOTB followed by a new Wild Wednesdays edition featuring my Pencil Sketch Inspired Procreate Recreation Art Series Part 2. This is CAAC signing off,  have a boogietasticweek!

  1. I’m not a spider fan, either, although I know the important role they play in the natural world. This was a nice set to listen to while it was snow flurrying and sleeting outside. I had some trouble with Caught a Ghost, though – several of the songs said they weren’t available. But it’s all good. Now I have to grab something hot to drink and think of some themes to suggest to you, because I keep forgetting.

    1. Alana,

Snow and sleet?! That’s really cold and I’m really glad that it’s not that nasty here. Spiders do have an important part to play in our world, one is scaring people. lol The bigger they are, the scarier they are! I’ll look forward to any music theme ideas you have, my friend. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I enjoyed listening to it all. Love the owls at the start. Great list. Happy Day of the Dead or All Saint’s Day

      1. Our Halloween was peaceful, Cathy. We had one trick-or-treater, which we haven’t any in the ten years we have lived here. Thank goodness we were prepared and gave out apples.

  3. A BIG HELLO & TRICK OR TREAT MY DEAREST… WOO HOO!!! LET’S BOOGIE!!!! Oh brother, I wish I could… hahahaha Luvin your holiday spirit… sure is cold out here… not sure if there’s gonna be any trick or treaters this year… it’s really cold. Sun is out, but oh well, who knows. Hope you have a good turn out! I hope to at least get pictures of my grandkids. Hope you’re having a great day my love!… Sending lots of hugs!

    1. Marie,

It’s chilly here, too. This cold weather brings to mind many years ago on Halloween when it snowed. No accumulation but the wind was wicked to deal with but thankfully we weren’t out in long.
Thanks for joining me on the dance floor, darlin’!

    1. I haven’t heard of Blind Owl Band. I will check them out. I did a quick listen to BOB’s playlist on YouTube. Their track Mislead Ghost might be my favorite and for anyone now curious, I’ll share it.

Thanks for sharing and for visiting, my friend!

  4. A huge Awww and I love your playlist today. It’s perfect for Halloween.

I laughed out loud at your Spark. I’m with you.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Cathy. big hug. ♥

    1. Sandee,

Like Jim Stafford sang, “I don’t like spiders and snakes…” 😀 Thankfully, we don’t get too many in our house, except the small manageable ones that don’t scare me too badly. lol
