Greeting, my lovely kittens & dawgs! I’m bushed and I’m far behind on my visits. This morning I am cranking things up to responding to comments and making return visits. Please continue with your patience of my pokiness.
I’m revisiting another Finnish band. I introduced them to you guys in January 2017. Yep, this is another post sitting in Draft begging to be shared that didn’t happen but…as it turns out procrastination isn’t such a bad thing after all. It gives me material for times like now. 🙂 Listen & enjoy the heavy metal sound of
What do you think of Nighwish? Are they new-to-you? Would like to hear more of their mewsic?

Bit of an Evanescence vibe, huh? I like the sound.
I had my metal days, but not so much anymore.
Red,
I was never metal rocker but in recent years I’ve grown more appreciative of the sound with limited listening. I don’t think I can listen all the time, though. Thanks for popping in!
I love metal, but am not terribly familiar with Nightwish’s music. Have to admit they sound pretty tight for all the lineup changes they’ve gone through every few years! I have long toyed with the idea of doing a “Tuesday Tunes” type post…..but when I fell off the blogging wagon, I fell pretty hard and have had a hard time remaining in the saddle ever since!
Kim,
It’s difficult to get your blogging mojo back after a long hiatus. I’ve been there many times but you’re welcome to join me on Tuesdays. I try to share mewsic no matter what I’m writing about in that time slot.
Cute funny with the hot dog 🙂 I need to come back and listen to this because my hubby is watching baseball right now in the same room.
Ellen,
No worries, come back anytime you want!
Heeheehee! Hot dog, smart ass, and parenting. Wow.
Fascinating music, too. While i’m not always fond of metal, this song grew on me as it progressed.
Mimi,
I never was a metal fan, either. I sorta enjoy it sometimes now, though.
So … is that a smart ass … and a hot dog? 🙂
Bwahahahahahahaha on the parenting. I laughed so hard I was crying. I’m so happy those years are long gone.
I love Nighwish. First I’ve ever heard of them. Keep them coming.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Thanks for joining in. Big hug. 💝💝💝
Sandee,
LOL I’m glad I made you laugh so hard that you cried. Isn’t that fun? I love it when something does me like that. I think it’s our minds saying I’ve had enough and this is just what I need. 🙂
You’re way to lively for me at 7:21 in the morning! <>
Jacqui, That’s the beauty of scheduling ahead, you can bring your A-game out anytime and no one is the wiser. lol Trust me, I wasn’t so lively feeling at 7:21. 🙂
Hi, Cathy!
Yessum, I am a big fan of Nightwish and of the Nordic gothic symphonic metal genre in general. I love the video for “Nemo,” a song from the band’s 2004 album Once. It was the last Nightwish album to feature Tarja Turunen on lead vocals. I am familiar with “Nemo” because I posted the video on Shady Dell Music & Memories at Halloween 2013 in “Beauty and the Beasts: Introducing the Leading Ladies of Modern Metal.”
https://shadydell.blogspot.com/2013/10/beauties-and-beasts-introducing-leading.html
The Once album cost a million dollars to produce, making it the most expensive Finnish album to date, and it remains the band’s best selling album at 2.3 million units sold worldwide. People who get turned off by the “metal” label should give Nightwish a try starting with the album Once because it is beautiful mainstream “approachable” mewsic. It was a pleasure to watch the “Nemo” video again.
Thank you very much for the morning entertainment, dear friend Cathy, and enjoy the rest of your week!
