Never Rob A Magician and More #humor

How has the week been, Kittens & Dawgs? Yes, I’m running a day late with this but it’s been crazy here. Why? Well, I spent much of my time researching Hoya lenses for my eye appointment on Thursday.  Anytime I do highly detailed oriented and technical stuff then it generally stresses me before wiping me completely out! All I want to do now is relax! Did you see vote in yesterday’s Battle of the Bands? If not, then I’d love if  you did!

Now to share some laughs with you. I saw this video on Facebook and it tickled my funny bone, maybe it’ll do the same for you!

On one of our weekend drives in June, I came across a few interesting sights worthy to preserve digitally for all times.  Do you remember the TV sitcom, Petticoat Junction?

Well, I found it in Washburn just north of us! I didn’t see any babes swimming in a water tower, though.

In stead, I found the local grocery store.

Growing up in southern WV, I remember vividly as a small child visiting an outhouse many times. You can even read about my last experience in an outhouse if you wish, so when I saw this I got a big ole kick out of it!

Clearly, it’s a gorgeous day with rich blue skies and fluffy white clouds over head when I took these photos. In fact, both shots are in the same area. I now kick myself for not snapping a photo of a barn with a gorgeous patriotic mural on the backside. sigh I will NOT make that mistake again, I promise!

I’m sharing these novel moments with other global shutter-bugs joining the Skywatch Friday linky party!

Today, I Celebrate The Small Things with Lexa!

I’m celebrating nearing the end of all of my doctor appointments for the year.

I’m celebrating that Hurricane Irma posed no great threat to us in east Tennessee.  In fact, the mild weather she pushed into the area is reason to celebrate!

I’m celebrating the quick containment of a recent hack to my CC info which forced me to close the account and the small charges pending on my account refuted.

I’m celebrating getting back into the rhythm of blogging. I forgot how busy it keeps me responding to comments and doing return visits.  It makes me wonder if I’m doing too much which worries me I might burn out too quickly.

I’m celebrating our pre-order for the iPhone8. The battery life on our old 5s’ are experiencing problems and we certainly do not want to fing ourselves out somewhere when one or both bite the dust for good! Hey, what can I say they are four years old and work marvelously considering the age of these electronics.

Incidentally, I’m way concerned about Lexa. Has anyone learned how she’s doing? I sent her an email with no response. I do not see any activity on her Facebook page or Twitter, either.  Please, if you know any thing share it and Lexa if you’re reading this then know, you’re in my thoughts & prayers.

What are you celebrating?

I missed the Friendly Fill-Ins fun with  Annie and Ellen while on my blogging hiatus and am happy to join them again.

  1. I have broken NO bones. *knock on wood*
  2. When I go out to breakfast, I order the usual sausage, egg, & cheese biscuit with coffee.
  3. As Summer officially comes to an end, I need to put away most of my warm weather clothing, pull out my cooler weather stuff all the while sorting through things to toss.
  4. Before this year is over, I really need to do…I don’t know. I think the most important things are now crossed off my to-do list and  I can look forward to making the necessary appointments for next year. Yikes, it just all happens too fast!

  1. Ah petticoat junction. I loved that show.
You know I have had several bloggers that I have become acquainted with just disappear, here and then gone. I have had a couple more die.
    Very disconcerting.

    1. Yogi,

I fear blogging is in a slump for many. I think some will eventually return and others we’ll never know what happened. But, when you hear of a dear blogger who’s sick with no updates then concern sets in for him/her. That’s the way I feel about Lexa. All I know to do is keep her in my prayers and hope that she’s okay. Sometimes illness takes a lot out of a person. Thank you for stopping by, my friend and have a good week!

  2. You always have so much going on here. I don’t know how you do it, but you do it well. I did not break anything until I was 55+. That was when I fell and broke my ribs. I just sorted through some clothes to donate to the local Closet. I agree…the clock moves too fast. *sigh* Glad you are back. I missed you! HUGS!

  3. I love all of your pictures–worth a smile 🙂 Congrats on all of the goodness this last week. Although the hack sounds horribly frustrating. Nope, I haven’t heard a thing from Lexa either but she’s in my prayers as well

  4. I do remember Petticoat Junction! LOL about robbing the magician. I see no need to upgrade to the newest phones “just because” either. My 6S works just fine. Have a great week, Cathy!

  5. I’d seen that David Lopez video before, but still it cracked me up even more this time.

I usually get the country steak biscuit when I go to Hardee’s. Out here we have Carl’s Jr which now owns Hardee’s. Recently I order a steak biscuit and got this disgusting carne asada steak biscuit. The meat would probably have been good on a tortilla, but a biscuit just didn’t work for me. Here they have a different concept of what a steak biscuit should be.
