Music is medicine for the soul

An Awww Mondays moment. Link up with Sandee at Comedy-Plus!

Despite my dreaded Thursday appointment with my dentist, experience wise it went better than expected.  The bridge had to come out after rechecking the suspicious areas Dr. S didn’t feel comfortable trying to do the restorative work.  It’s a good thing he trusted his instincts.  There was more cavity beneath the bridge than anticipated. Although, the cost totally bites I’m grateful this was caught now, otherwise I shutter to think the nightmare this could be later on had it gone unattended to.  Sometimes bad things happen for a good reason.

It’s time for Monday’s Music Moves Me!  The theme this week, I borrowed from a good friend, Tom at SPMM.   Music is Medicine for the soul.  Sounds complicated?  Not really, just build a playlist with songs that are emotionally soothing or pick song titles or bands relating to medicine or maybe put your own twist with the theme. Don’t make yourself Dizzy, just have fun with it!

Sometimes when I’m sick I run a Fever making me have Double Vision and feel Dizzy. That’s when I need a Miracle Drug, a Remedy for the cure. The good girl that I am follows the Doctors Orders hoping The Remedy does the trick but nothing in a drink or pill will do because You’re My Remedy!

While plundering the Internet for inspirations, I happened up on the article Doctors in Rock which was an interesting read and thought it would be a nice tidbit to tuck into today’s contribution.

This is a music link up.  The party co-hostess are now featured in my right side bar underneath the 4M banner.   Every other week, a suggested music theme is given for party goers to build a song set around using YouTube or other music sources for our guests.  To access the dance floor, a theme isn’t mandatory,  but failure to meet the basic guideline (post must contain music) puts your URL in danger being labeled – NO MUSIC.

Medicine is music for the soul but so are laughs, lots and lots of laughs. I found this YT compilation that made me giggle. Hopefully, these will tickle your funny bone, too! 😀

It’s time to scoot but before I go I want to point out that earlier this morning, my first BOTB of the month published and if you have time,  I hope you’ll take part in the fun.  The link is in my side menu under “Current Headline news”.  I’ll be back mid-week with TAD on Wednesday.  Yep, I’m changing things up again in my posting schedule.  This is CAAC signing off,  have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. Yikes. I think I was interrupted from listening to your post at the beginning of the week and then I totally forgot that I never finished listening so here I am and the battery on my laptop is dying…(I need a new one, I know, sigh) I better get to commenting. This was a nice mix of old and new. Most of these songs I didn’t know. Of the new ones I liked U2’s the best. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. Granny & kitties, I don’t know what’s wrong with WP. Both comments were thrown into Pending status. I’m glad that I saw these today before the weekend totally kicked into gear. 🙂 That doggie sure is funny helping that fat cat over the gate. MOL Seriously, that kitty needs to go on a diet. You know, you don’t see outdoor cats that large. 🙂 The rockin’ doctors are so cool and not too shabby mewsicians. Thanks for joining the party, little furiends.

  4. Thanks for the wonderful Fever interlude with Peggy Lee. I needed that after the feverish pace of this year’s A to Z Challenge 🙂

    1. Molly, the A2Z Challenge is a lot of work, so I do understand and you finished the craziness. 🙂 Now to relax, right? Thanks for dropping by to join the party and to dance with me!

  5. You got it right on the money my southern belle! Love all your choices. My mama’s favorite singer Peggy Lee! She was a singer on top for a long time I’d say!!! Luv ya girlfriend… always will! You’re duh best! HUGS p.s. Sorry I was late posting… but I’m up there now! HUGS

    1. Marie,

Peggy Lee was a such a talent and she started very young. It’s so wonderful to have you back in Blogosphere, my dear!

  6. Loved the fat cat getting help from the pup. I laughed out loud. I laughed even harder with the commercials. Great.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Sandee,

That dog helping that chubby cat is hilarious and so sweet. I think it’s time for the kitty to go on a diet and a little exercise might help.lol The commercials are a real treat. I think DH shared it with me and I knew I had to put it for y’all. 😉

  7. Wow! I was almost twelve years old when “Fever” was released it dominated the airways. Music was in transition as rock ‘n roll was “the thing” but big band stars were still around and trying to keep the old fires burning. by 1969 the charts were so diverse that “Dizzy” stood along side “Hokny Tonk Women” from The Stones and ” I’ve Gotta Be Me” by Sammy Davis Jr.

    1. I understand the difficulty of music transitioning. I think no matter what the change is, most of us don’t adapt easily to it. I’m happy there is such diverse music for us to enjoy because I grow tired of hearing one genre all the time. Thanks for joining the party, my friend!

  8. Hi again, Cathy! Happy Paw-some 4M Monday, dear friend! I’m backed-up and stacked-up this morning, and therefore will need to keep my comment shorter than usual.

Awww… that’s a funny video clip showing the dog helping his pal the fat kitty climb over the child gate, proving once again that dogs and cats can love and take care of each other if they have a mind to. Humans can learn a lesson from that video.

Yessum, I read your email about your date with the dentist. I’m sorry you must pay a hefty bill for further procedures, but it will help you avoid bigger problems and greater expense in the future.

I like this week’s 4M song theme, and thank you for mentioning friend Shady. I remember Peggy Lee singing her hit 1958 cover of “Fever” on numerous music variety TV shows of the period. The song was originally waxed two years earlier by R&B artist Little Willie John, and I had his version in my vinyl collection. Foreigner released one great, catchy hit single after another, and “Double Vision” is one of my favorites by the band. Trouble is, I have about a dozen Foreigner favorites, making it hard for me to pick a top fave from among them. I spotted that dancing girl wearing the late 60s style outfit on YouTube a few years ago. In my youth, “Dizzy” was not one of my favorite songs by Tommy Roe, but it has definitely grown on me over the years. It reminds me of the period when I was courting Mrs. Shady #1. “Doctor’s Orders” immediately brings to mind its use in the soundtrack of one of my favorite movies The Last Days Of Disco (1998). The rest of the medical themed songs are new to my ears and I enjoyed them. I also appreciated how you formed a sentence with the song titles.

I will need to return later to watch all of those commercials, but the first one, the pee proposal in the snow, is a hoot. How romantic! 🙂 How could a gal say no to that? 🙂

If you are switching this week’s Thursday Art Date to Wednesday, I’ll BOLO for it. I really need to run. Have a wonderful week, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

Poor oral hygiene as a kid is much to blame despite getting the problem solved, anytime you have dental crowns or bridges the possibility of decay is still possible to unexposed areas. It could be worse and am thankful. The dentist says to stay away from sugar foods. I told him he may as well kill me now because that’s not going to happen. lol The YT commercial clips are pretty good. I’m with you, how can a girl say no to a proposal as such as that fella’s. 😀

    2. Love the fat cat getting help from the dog. That is too funny and so are the commercials. I’m not sure which is my favourite as they are all so funny. I enjoyed the musical interlude and how you connected it all. I qill post tomorrow about what makes me feel better which is funny since I am getting over a bad cold.
