Medical #humor on #FridaySillies

Purrs and hooowdys, Kittens & Dawgs!  Another week bites the dust. This was supposed to DH’s Friday to work but he had the two eye surgies yesterday that I’ve mentioned him needing for several monthsr. The doctors took care of the cataract (the retina attachment procedure accelerated the need for this surgery even if you don’t have a cataract) and removed the oil bubble (left behind after retina attachment a year ago March). Both surgeons said everthing well very well, so we were very happy with that mews.  Today, he sees his retina surgeon for follow-up so I won’t be making rounds in Blogosphere but I thought I’d share some medical humor with y’all in this edition of Friday Sillies!

We appreciate all the prayers and good vibes many of y’all have sent this well.  God is awesome to place such special people in our lives. Thank you, thank you for your prayers! That’s a wrap for now but I hope to see you on the dance floor for Song Titles that begin with each letter of your name – first, middle, last, or all on Mondays Mewsic Moves Me!

  1. Oh girl, I was just doing Monday’s linky and I had to stop by for your linky. I was drawing a blank… sheesh! Don’t get OLD! IT’S SOOOOOOOOOOO NOT WORTH IT! ~hehehe~ But I also saw the laughing kitty and I had to get a closer look. I KNEW IT! You drew that picture… it’s fabulous…!!!!!! Tickling the kitty with the brush is what it looks like.. ~hehehe~ Oh my gosh, I LOVE IT!!! ~hehehehehe~ Have a picture perrrrrrrrrrrrrrrfect day, my friend! It’s lovely outside and Batavia (where I live) is having a city wide garage sale… WOO HOO! I’M OFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!! ~snicker~

    1. Marie,

Yes, I sketched the laughing cat in last year’s A to Z Challenge. 🙂 Did you find any good deals at the city wide garage sale? Thanks for stopping by for some giggles, dearie!

  2. Having spent too much time in hospitals recently (not for me, but for an elderly relative) I can appreciate the need for medical humor. The ER people work so hard and – wait for this one, the hospital employees don’t call it the ER, they call it the ED (and I can’t help thinking of a certain commercial – sorry).

    1. Alana,

That’s a new one on me about ERs are called the ED. I haven’t been to the ER in years so I guess lots have changed. I hope your family member is ok. Thanks for visiting!

  3. These were funny but I must admit, I was hoping for a joke about a cat scan.

    1. I used a joke in recent months about a cat scan and almost thought about repeating it but decided against it. 🙂 Thanks for popping by for some laughs!

    1. Mimi,

He’s recovering quite well. Still a bit weak. His vision won’t be clear for a few weeks, though. He’ll still need corrective eyewear which means new glasses at some point. Thanks for visiting!

  4. I’m so glad things seem to be going well and now it is the recuperation time so I feel for you because men normally can’t take this too well:) Love the funnies..the last one is hilarious

    1. Birgit,

This is true, men are normally bad about it but DH did very well. It’s probably because the pain was minimal. lol

  5. I’m glad all went well with the surgeries. Sending blessings and hugs to speed up the healing process. Thanks for the giggles and the Skynyrd video. Have a great weekend.

  6. I don’t want anything to do with Ralph. Yikes. The rest of them made me chuckle.

I link this post to Feline Friday with the kitties dancing.

Have a purrfect day and weekend. Big hugs. ♥

  7. Hi, Cathy!

That’s great mews.about DH! So far, so good, dear friend. Am I to understand that there is no gas bubble that would make it necessary for him to avoid mountain elevations? Medical humor is especially funny because the subject of our health is so serious. Cartoons like these Friday Sillies allow us to release some of our anxiety. I giggled out loud over the gag pulled on the X-ray tech and the depiction of a stone age anesthesiologist. 🙂

It has been ages since I listened to Skynyrd’s “What’s Your Name” and I never saw that mewsic video before. I did some reading and learned that it was made at a concert in Pensacola shortly after the band reformed in the wake of the plane crash that killed founding member Ronnie Van Zant and other members of the band. It reminds us that, even when we are devastated by tragedy and loss, life goes on and so does the show.

Thank you very much, dear friend Cathy. I wish you and DH a safe and happy weekend!

    1. Tom,

That’s correct no gas bubble but until the air bubble dissolves we can’t go to the mountains. The good mews is it won’t stay around long like the gas bubble would. We’re so very thankful that things are working out better than we anticipated. Is Ronnie Van Zant related to Steven Van Zant? You’re right dispite tragedy & loss, life goes on. The world doesn’t stand still until so we can catch up, does it? Thanks for popping by for some giggles and update on DH. Have a good week, my friend!
