March in like a lamb, random funnies, & fill-ins

Here in Knoxville, TN  March came in like a lamb.  I figured with the windiness we got this past Sunday that it would carry over into Monday.  The only thing we got was some moderate rain fall in the wee hours on Monday.   The rest of the day was gray with falling temperatures.  While winter is definitely with us, Mr. Blue Skies did come out to play this week giving us some lovely spring-like days.

Do you have your smile ready?  It’s time for some giggles!

You heard it first from Cousin Eddie.
I guess he didn’t get the stripper glitter off before the wife got home. 😀

Ellen at 15andMeowing and Lorraine at Four-Legged Furballs share each Thursday four blank statements for us to copy and paste to create an entry for their Friday Friendly Fill-ins. Rounding things out this is how I filled in the blanks.

1. Nothing is better than home-made mealsMy recipes aren’t pretty in presentation often but the flavor is there and that’s the most important thing to me.

2. I enjoy testing my culinary skills in the kitchen experimenting with new recipesI don’t have to be Martha Stewart or Ree Drummond level but as long as I’m having fun candy making, baking, and cooking then that’s all that matters to me.

3. Music makes me feel energized.  A good song puts me in a boogie mood turning ordinary chores into fun exercise.

4. I would advise others to try something new or else you’ll regret it later.  The surest way to failure is to never tryIf I didn’t push myself to put pencil to paper then I would still be wondering today if I can draw.  I’m so glad I challenged myself!

A view from my kitchen window of a bird in the woods, shot with my big girl camera. Not much of a skyview but you tell it’s a gray day. Skywatch Friday Alan @Yogi’s Den

I’ll be with Monday’s Music Moves Me where you’ll find me boogieing to ‘your choice’ song picks, so I hope you’ll join me on the dance floor.  I’m close out things today with another Holderness Family music video with Quit Throwing Shade on Her Part Backstreet Boys Parody.  Have a funtastic Friday, dear friends! 1. Your funnies are always so fun! And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I really relate to all of you answer this week. I also like to experiment in the kitchen. Some of the results are pretty good, though I have had a few failures, that’s for sure. Have a wonderful week!

  2. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I agree about homemade cooking and trying new things. Fun comics. Have a nice weekend. XO

  3. So nice to see signs of spring out the window. We did not get the early break. Darn winter is hanging on here. Loved the video and comics, esp of the line up.

  4. I am a boomer so I guess I am quite old and I do use the laugh Emogi and write Hahahaaa. I think I did this on your blogpost more than once. The barbed wire cartoon made me laugh out loud and love the Lion and the lamb one too. I wonder what kind of bird you captured in that picture. I am not one for the kitchen although I like baking but my fun time is artistic with card making and trying new things there. Have a great weekend!

  5. I love that video. He’s so fun.

Love all the funnies as always.

    Yes it’s #3.

Your fill-ins made me smile. Home cooked meals are the best indeed. We’ve done a lot of experimenting with new dishes this past year. It’s been most fun.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

  6. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Fill-in Friday, dear friend! I have come for a dose of Sillies and a tune.

It’s nice to know you are getting a preview of spring in the Knoxville region. Unfortunately we got a preview of summer earlier in the week. Yesterday and this morning it is pleasantly cool again, so thanks for sending that frontal system our way.

I smiled when I saw that cat lineup at the police station. I chuckled over that meme with the pic of Randy Quaid. I LOL over the wife who installed barbed wire fencing down the middle of the bed. Even funnier is your tag. Yessum, a man does NOT want his wife to catch him with stripper glitter on his hands. It never goes well. 🙂

I enjoyed your fill-ins. Presentation of a meal is nice, but the flavor is the most important aspect. I am sure DH (and his tummy) appreciate your cooking and the yummy desserts you prepare and serve. You are like Mrs. Shady. She likes to experiment in the kitchen. Nearly every meal she serves has ingredients that came straight from her imagination rather than a recipe book. 9 times out of 10 her experimenting pays off with a meal more delicious than it would have been. You aren’t the only one who has reaped the benefits of overcoming fear of failure and rendering your artwork for public display. We, your readers, benefit as well. Viewing art makes me smile, soothes my soul. inspires me, and those are the effects your sketches and In Living Color illustrations have one me. Thank you!

I like the pic you took out the window of the birdie in the tree. I also enjoyed the latest parody song from that talented couple who is now bringing their daughter into the act. The song speaks the truth about youth “making up trends…It never ends.” I say what’s old is new again.

Thanks for the Sillies and song, dear friend Cathy. Have a safe and happy weekend!
