Leaders of today bring forth leaders for tomorrow

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

At the end of last week, I finally heard from our girl, Marie.  She’s on the  mend.  Her desire is to be back with us today, but we’ll see what happens.  I’m not sure what she has but she reported being terribly groggy, coughing her head off and sleeping mainly.  To the untrained person the cold and flu sound a like so I’m not sure what she has bu I know she feel terrible.  Keep those prayers going!

Incidentally, did you catch the morning news in your inbox? Earlier this morning, Round 4 of BoTB went live!  I can use your help in this battle so please take a moment to cast your vote.

This week Robin wants us to build a playlist of song about leadership in honor of President’s Day.  The first thing I think of when I think of leadership is God.  I first look to the Master for direction.  That leadership trickles down to the family, first the husband, next the wife, and finally the children. But each role should look for heavenly guidance every step of the way.  Hit play to enjoy my short song set.

Leadership song tracks:

Eighteen Wheeler ~Alabama  This song speaks to me of a husband/father’s dedication to provide a good living for his family.  I remember such goodbyes and worries by the phone.  As a Christian wife, I recognized that God placed man at the head of the family to be leaders (an influencer) and providers and am thankful for DH is just that to this family.

Tough ~Craig Morgan The lyrics tell the story from a husband’s perspective of the many many leadership roles his wife takes on every day.

Go the Distance ~Michael Bolton  A real leader truly goes the distance.  That’s the job of a mother and a father to keep pushing forward to love, care, and provide for their family.   This verse says it all in my opinion.

And I won’t look back, I can go the distance
And I’ll stay on track, no, I won’t accept defeat
It’s an uphill slope, but I won’t lose hope
Till I go the distance, and my journey is complete

We normally think of a leader in terms of adults but Yes, I Am A Leader, reminds me that our children are tomorrow’s leaders.  I pray future generation leaders Look to Jesus for all things instead of looking to only themselves or bending to what others tell them.  A real leader makes the difficult choice to do what’s right instead of what’s popular.

This is a mewsic linky party. Every other week we have a suggested mewsic theme (see side menu) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our mewsic enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

I’m taking a lackadaisical approach to posting daily for the most part because I’m beginning to feel burned out again, so I’ve given myself permission to just go with the flow.  Right now Mondays are the only day I’m committing to and the rest of the week I’m just going with the flow, if it happens, it happens and if not, just know everything is alright.   We’ll see what tomorrow brings.  😉   Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. Good news about Marie. And I am totally with you on leadership- Glasgow’s quote says it all.

  2. I am also eagerly awaiting spring, and also sending good thoughts to Marie. Those winter illnesses seem to get worse and worse each year, don’t they. Your songs were all new to me. The middle song “Tough”, had quite a twist in the middle of it, didn’t it. So inspirational. I also enjoyed Michael Bolton; I didn’t realize at first this was a Disney song until I saw the movie clips interspersed with the singing (I’m not normally much of a Disney fan but this was a great song!).

  3. Thank you for the update on Marie. We both love her dearly and prayers will continue for both her and Dave.

Spot on about leadership. Driller is right about not having leadership in our government, just manipulation. So sad.

I hear on that burned out feeling. I take the weekends off, but lately it doesn’t seem to be enough. I think it’s partly the gloomy weather.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

  4. Heaven knows we could use a little good leadership. One has to wonder where the Reagans, Kennedys, Eisenhowers, and Trumans went. Leadership is all areas of the federal government has been lacking for over two decades, maybe longer. We are not being governed by leaders, we are being manipulated by politicians.
Very good playlist on this cold, wintry morning. I is -2 with a wind chill of -20 and blowing snow here in the Ozarks. Come on springtime!!! Have a blessed week.

  5. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Awww-some 4M Monday, dear friend!

That’s great news about Marie being on the mend, albeit still dealing with nasty symptoms. I hope they subside soon. I will keep Marie in my prayers. Thanks for the update on her.

You posted an inspiring set of songs about leadership. I was especially touched by “Tough,” a song that applies to many Americans who are currently struggling with multiple problems at the same time. When the going gets rough, you need to be tough. The song tells the truth about how much hard work and responsibility a woman has as a homemaker and mother. It’s a full time job. made even more challenging if and when serious illness strikes.

I can tell that you are feeling burned out and needing to slow down and take a more practical approach to blogging. You mention it in nearly every post. If you join every hop that comes along, you will soon find yourself overwhelmed and wonder why you are investing so much of your time trying to keep up the pace. Now age 71, with time becoming more precious as I age, I am reevaluating my own blogging routine, and have often thought about quitting altogether. Stopping short of that, I hope you agree that moderation is key, for you and for me. That could be our slogan. 🙂

Enjoy your week, dear friend Cathy!
