Saturday Songsuasion Jake Owen & Sillies Bad Lip Reading + s-ART-urday summer magic

Good-morning, kittens & dawgs! How was your work week? Mine about average. It’s hard to get things done in the evenings, but DH and I are making headway at tackling chores that need our attention. Wouldn’t it be grand, if we had all the money in the world to do whatever we want, when ever we wanted? Yep, it sure would! I heard a song recently, which resonates these sorta sentiments.

Florida born Jake Owens must have thought his destiny lied in professional golf, but a wakeboard accident in college left him unable to return to the sport. What a bummer! However, while recuperating from reconstructive surgery Jake taught himself to play a neighbor’s guitar. I always wanted to learn. My hands are too small, though. Any who, his first gig was playing at a campus bar where he eventually became a regular performer and began writing his own songs.

Owen moved to Nashville like most serious artists do to pursue his dreams. To make a long story short the ice breaker for his career came when a bank teller asked for one of his CDs who then sent it to Warner/Chapell Music publishing company. They didn’t give him a contract, instead it opened the door for Jake to meet Jimmy Ritchey, record producer/songwriter and with his collaboration along with songwriter, Chuck Jones wrote Ghosts. The song was written for Kenny Chesney, but he never recorded the track. However in 2005 the song drew Nashville executives attention from Sony BMG who did sign Owen under their RCA label.  Owen’s music hit the Country charts throughout the years, but it wasn’t until 2011 that he got his #1 hit with his third album and lead title song.

I like Jake’s new clean, cut image. I think he’s more attractive below than with the long locks in these vids, but I find this true of all men.

Are you familiar with Jake Owen? Do you have a favorite song? Are you a new-country music fan?  Interesting tidbit: Did you know Jake has a twin brother? It’s true. They aren’t identical, so I know they couldn’t blame the other for things gone wrong very easy. lol

Speaking of twins, I went to school with identical twin boys ~ Ronnie and Donnie. The first time I met them I had no clue. It was like I did a double take…”Didn’t I just see you see you going that way?”  It took me half the school year to figure out the difference between the brothers and they were always full of mischief. I wonder what became of them? Hmmm, oh well this morning country music inspiration came from a funny video DH showed me earlier in the week. I know you die-hard Avenger fans (you don’t have like Marvel comics to enjoy this) are gonna love it!

Other than this vid, what made you laugh last? Do you have giggles to share?

Linking with Claudia #s-ART-urday! Photo-art project # 8. I celebrate the summer magic of wild roses fragrance in the breeze.

That’s a wrap for this week. I hope you enjoyed your visit and I appreciate you including me in your weekend. Feel free to invite your friends to stop in for a listen. It’s a great feeling to share! Have a songsational Saturday!

    1. The one thing I like doing on Saturday’s is introducing new-to-me artists when I can to my readers. You may like them or you may not, but I’m sharing as I discover them. 😀 Oh yeah, I love lilac blooms ~ pretty and scented! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Your posts are so interesting and I discover an artist through this post… Many thanks for your visit, as well and I’ll come back to read more! Have a sunny day and a lovely week!

    1. Alexa, an artist you say. Why thank you! I’m honored and flattered by your kind words. I don’t think of myself as an artist, but it’s nice to receive the compliment. I’m so happy that you stopped by!

  2. I’m a Jake fan now!! hello there – LOL. I like his clean cut image too… but he has a nice deep voice.

That Avengers video – I have not laughed so hard in ages. Have you seen my beef jerky? oh my. hilarious.

  3. I love that wild rose photo! So lovely! We don’t have any bloom around here so I make due with my knock-outs…which I need to prune the dead blooms off of so they bloom again soon 😉

I’m not the biggest Jake Owen fan. He falls into that category of “bro country” for me, and after awhile it all begins to sound the same…and the lyrics are pretty much interchangeable. I will say that from what I know about Owen, he is a great guy who does a lot for his family and those around him. I have to admire that…and when I hear Barefoot Blue Jean night, I might sing along 😉

    Stopping by from sARTurday 😉

    1. Jennifer, yeah I get what you’re saying about his style. I find this to be true of many artists today, but it’s kinda fun to throw out these artists once in awhile. I love the smell of wild roses! Knock-outs?! Now that’s an interesting name for a flower. I’m not sure what this looks like, so I’m gonna go check now. Thanks for visiting!
