It’s Was A Dark and Stormy Night

Hello, you’ll find today’s A2Z post, here, but don’t rush away just yet. 😉 In last week’s BoTB, I asked y’all to vote for favorite You Only Live Twice cover artist. It became clear early on Eddie Peregrina was the pick of the people and he held the lead til the end. Let me recap where the votes went.

Marc Hunter received Stephen & John’s votes, Mark Lanegan got Lee & Birgit’s votes, and Eddie Peregrina took Tom, Sandee, Nicole, Mimi, & Kathe’s votes.

The tally 2-2-5 shows Eddie is the preferred choice.  Congrats to the late Eddie Peregrina for winning this showdown!   I’ll be back on the 15th for another BoTB and for your convenience, it’ll remain the first post entry each day until I remove the sticky feature.

I’m going to compact things a wee bit by sharing another sample of Eddie’s talent for my Throwback Thursday tune.  I am not familiar with his music but according to Wiki he’s most well known for the cover of What Am I Living For  from 1970.

You might be interested in listening to Eddie Peregrina’s greatest hits YouTube playlist if you like his style.

This Thursday’s art prompt is “evening”.  It took me a nanosecond to know what I wanted to draw, Snoopy the mystery author with his tail tale of a dark and stormy night.

A few other past illustrations that easily fit into the ‘evening’ category include Swans in the MoonlightSunset Glow, Starry Night, Evening Mistresssilhouette trees starry night recreation. or the reinvented dark spooky house image.   I can go on listing examples but I will stop for now.

This week’s Thankful Thursday includes DS getting his brake line replaced on Easter Sunday.  We met up with him in the parking lot of Advance Auto where he did the fix which gives me another thankful because once he got into the job he discovered the brake line that he bought was a wee bit too short.  With only minutes to spare for Advance closed, he went in and bought the right one.  Everything worked out okay.  I tell you this there’s nothing easy about auto repairs!

I had hoped to contribute something to Kat’s Writing Workshop but the prompts this week couldn’t get the ole brain gears clicking.  I think it’s probably due to lack of oxygen.  I tend to forget to breathe with all A2Z chaos.  Maybe next week will be different.

In case you missed Playing Catchup on Sunday,  I rolled nearly all of last week’s normal blogging content into long post.  😉  Tomorrow is DH’s off Friday but I have my next Looney Tunes’ Art Sketches set to post through the weekend.  It’s been a tiring week.  Alright, I’m heading over to Rain’s Garden to browse through the gallery of artistry.  You’re welcome to follow along.  Have a doodletastic day!

  1. Hi Cathy! 🙂 Oh Snoopy!!! He’s a brilliant author you know. 😉 Love your sketch! I’m going to backtrack today to check out your latest Looney Tunes!!! 🙂

  2. Snoopy is always a winner in my book, even on a dark and stormy night. Good choice, Cathy. And so glad you got your break lines replaces, especially with that close call. Wouldn’t be the first time my plans were thwarted by a store closing :(. I listened to and enjoyed Eddie Peregrina’s music as I went through your post. I did like him and sorry he is no longer with us. So hope all of your evenings are quiet and pleasant (as apposed to dark and stormy) Cathy … Until next week … be well.

Eddie has a great voice. Reminds me of the 50s. I see he won the battle easily.
