Thank you for making the Sunday Edition of Monday’s Music Moves Me apart of your day! Our lovely Marie wanted me to pass on hellos and that she misses everyone. Well, darlin’ we miss you, too! Get well quickly!
This month’s special guest hostess is Alana and for her first theme, it’s birthday/celebration songs in honor of a family member who’ll be celebrating seven decades of birthdays.
Oh yeah, a special twist for our party is to include a bit of Led Zeppelin in the mix.
I am not too familiar with Led Zeppelin. The only song that instantly comes to mind by the legendary band is “Stairway To Heaven”. I’m confident this song will get featured a lot. At least it’s a good one and one I don’t mind hearing numerous times on the same day. I’m going to use this prompt as a chance to get more acquainted with Led Zeppelin music. In doing so, I quickly learned that it’s gonna take more time than I can give at this point with their 50+ year career and so I sampled several of the bands’ albums on YouTube to build a playlist of songs I know.
In doing my homework I learned that All My Love isn’t the love song I had always thought it was. In fact, it’s a song written as an ode to Plant’s five year old son who died of a stomach virus in 1977 which is very sad. This and Stairway to Heaven are my favorite Led Zeppelin tracks.
I blame my lack of knowledge in general due to not being exposed to heavy rock or least that’s the way I remember it. Sometimes, I find the truth to be different when I hear classic tunes with a heavier vibe featured elsewhere. Blogging brings awakening and discovery in the world of music for me which is fun.
This party is a birthday celebration and I can’t forget to say Happy Birthday to my lovely mom who’ll be another year older tomorrow. This one is for you, Mom. I hope you have an extra ordinarily wonderful day. You deserve it and so much more!
I hope you enjoyed the music. Now, it’s time for you to step onto the dance floor, just link up your post that contains a song or two, and hop over to any and all of the other party-goers to boogie with them.
In case you missed the announcement Marie, the brain child, felt the need to step down to tend to her health needs and has asked that I take over for her. You will always have a place when you’re ready to come back, my friend!
This is a music linky party. Our co-hostess are Stacy, Alana, and Me. Every other week we have a suggested music theme (see weekly prompts here) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our music enthusiasts. Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.
I am taking part in the A2Z blogfest this month. I’ll be back tomorrow in the 3rd day of the challenge with the letter C. This is CAAC signing off, until next time have a boogietastic week! X💋X💋, Cathy

Really good playlist, Cathy!
Great Pawty over here, CK..We just loved Led Zeppelin, and still like to hear that songs. We didn’t know the story about the little boy of Robert Plant, that’s really sad 🙁 Pawkisses for you and one Extra for your Mom’s Birthday🐾😽💞
Great music! Today it seems there is not as much talent and lots of reusing old music without much great success. THanks for the memories. Have a wonderful new week.
MY people and my music. SOmeof the best ever! Thank you for sharing.
Interestingly, no one played “Stairway to Heaven”. I didn’t choose it for the same reason you avoided it.
I love Led Zeppelin, one of my favorite groups. And you can’t go wrong with Kool and The Gang’s – Celebration or Dolly’s, Happy Birthday song. Happy Birthday to your mom, Cathy!🥳
I never heard that story about “All of my Love”. It’s one of my favorite Led Zep songs.
Lee
I was a young man when bands like Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and Cream were the top bands of the day. I believe I had four Led Zeppelin albums in my collection. It was a good time for hard rock. Great playlist this week.
They play Celebration by Kool and the Gang after every A’s home victory. Happy Birthday. Thanks for hosting this great party and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Wishing your Mom many happy returns of the day! Your song choices are right on target.
Happy Birthday to you Mom from us! Those were good tunes. I wasn’t a huge Led Zeppelin fan but on of our neighbors was the sound manager for them back when they were touring, he has some good stories!
Awww, thank you for doing the research. Not one Led Zeppelin Song, but six. Wow, and yes, the pre-birthday person enjoyed them all. I didn’t know about Robert Plant losing a five year old son, but “that person” did, and turns out there is another song Plant wrote to honor his late son, released in 1993, and “that person” has that album, too. That Dolly Parton song is too cute and Celebrate is always a good one. Thank you, Cathy, thank you so much!
Awww, an adorable birthday kitty. I’m sure your mom loves it.
Love Celebration. It was a favorite of mine in the 80s.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥
Hi, Cathy!
Happy Paw-some 4M Monday on Sunday, dear friend! I hope you and DH are having a nice weekend.
Awww… I just wanna smooch that little kitty! Seems he can’t make up his mind whether to keep snoozing or wake up and satisfy his curiosity about what his goofy pet humans are doing. Happy birthday to your dear mother! I enjoyed Dolly’s birthday song, a clever reworking of her hit “9 To 5.” I also say hello to friend Marie and hope she will soon be back on the road to wellness and able to join the fun in the blogging community.
As I might have told you before, Kool And The Gang’s “Celebration” is a song I used as a mewsic bed for a special showender piece I edited for our TV station’s newscast. The date was January 11, 1981. “Celebration” was a hot song, on its way to #1 less than a month later. I knew the song would be the perfect one to play as viewers watched highlights of the big NFL game that had just ended with the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Dallas Cowboys to win the NFC East Conference title.
I was just turning age 20 in late 1969 when Led Zep blew me away with their breakthrough hit, a steamroller of a song entitled “Whole Lotta Love.” I rushed out and bought the 45 and still love the song today. It’s my favorite by the band. I am familiar with the other tracks on your playlist and like them all. Songs 1 thru 5 are the ones most frequently covered by artists I discover on YouTube.
Thank you for the morning mewsic and smiles, dear friend Cathy. Enjoy your Sunday and have a wonderful week ahead!
