Introducing #Echosmith

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Welcome to Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me!  It’s Labor Day in the United States, so I’m not here at the moment but that doesn’t mean my blog door is closed. Nope, Curious as a Cathy is open 24/7 to all of you.  It’s time to hit the dance floor and this week’s theme is your choice song picks.

Initially, I thought I’d throw together a random playlist of songs that’s tickled my ears, starting with Echosmith’s song, “Stuck”. I don’t remember how I came across this group. Perhaps you shared the song and it made me curious to hear more. However I came to know them, I found their YouTube channel with their Lonely Generation album playlist and I decided to share it with you. Hit play to enjoy a non-stop listening pleasure!

LONLEY GENERATION playlist tracks include:

  1. LONELY GENERATION
  2. DIAMONDS
  3. CRACKED
  4. SHUT UP AND KISS ME
  5. STUCK
  6. LAST FOREVER
  7. EVERYONE CRIES
  8. SCARED TO BE ALONE
  9. LOST SOMEBODY
  10. LOVE YOU BETTER
  11. FOLLOW YOU
  12. I DON’T WANNA LOSE MY LOVE

    1. Marie,

We stayed home all weekend. The heat was too much for us to be out, so it was fine by us to just stay indoors. I mean, where do you go in a pandemic? We got to relax, do some binge watching, and ate some yummy foods. Thanks for stopping by to boogie with me, girlfriend. Have a pAWWWesom week!

    1. John,

Echosmith has a nice sound. They aren’t the same caliber of yesteryear mewsicians but I like them pretty well. Being cute gives the girl extra points. 🙂

  3. Awww on those pups wrapped in the flag. So perfect for today.

Love the video. Not heard it before today. Beautiful.

Loved everything about Martin Luther King. He was most brilliant.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Sandee,

Yep, MLK was not only brilliant but wise. If the man could see how things are going in this world today, he’d roll in his grave. This isn’t what he intended. Only in heaven will we know true peace and equality. Thanks for joining me, my friend!

  4. OMG! Nothing like golden retriever puppies! I had heard of Aerosmith but not Echosmith; however, I have heard “Shut up and Kiss Me.” Good music. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hey Joyce,

So happy to see you on the dance floor. Aerosmith is known by many, but Echosmith not so many. I had to smile at your connection between the two groups, though. Have a boogietastic week. I’m heading your way shortly! 😉

  5. Hi Cathy!

This is a new to me group. Interesting sound. Not too bad. Thanks for the introduction! Have a great week!

    ~Mary

  6. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Labor Day and Awww-some 4M Monday to you, dear friend! Awww – I just wanna smooch those three puppies!

I might have been the one who first introduced you to lovely Sydney Sierota and her mewsical brothers, the California based indie pop family band Echosmith. A few years ago as you might recall I devoted much of my blogging to artists of the modern pop scene. At that time I posted the song that remains Echosmith’s biggest hit – “Cool Kids” – along with a few of their other videos. Sydney has the kind of voice you and I like. It is sweet and pure, at times breathy. She utilizes the technique that I call “glottal fry” in which her voice rides up and cracks to convey emotion – quite different from the husky growl you told me you do not favor in female vocals. The Sierotas indicated years ago that they are determined to keep a clean and wholesome image even if it costs them a potentially wider fan base. Instead of going for sexy and sleazy, they choose to perform sensible, inspiring songs about coming-of-age, love found, love lost and family relationships. I followed Echosmith for several years but was not aware that they have a new album out. Six-and-a-half years is a long time between releases, and it’s great to see that Echosmith issued Lonely Generation earlier this year. I enjoyed the new songs and videos from the album.

I wish you and DH a restful Labor Day and a wonderful week ahead, dear friend Cathy. I’ll have a new post tomorrow morning and I hope to see you then. Blessings to you and your family!

    1. Tom,

I’m gearing up this morning to catch up with my blogging buds. I appreciate you telling me that you featured Echosmith on your blog home. That’s probably where I heard them first. I try to make a note when someone shares a group with me that clicks but sometimes I forget. I like breathy feminine vocals as you know. The “glottal fry” as you call it is a style that suits my ears. It’s definitely feminine sounding. I like their clean and wholesome appeal. That’s really refreshing. I’m happy to share with you their newest album. Hopefully, they’re back on track and will produce more mewsic. Thanks for swinging by yesterday and for letting me know to expect a new post from you. I’m heading that way now, dear friend. Have a boogietastic week!

  7. There is a reason that Golden Retriever pups are the most popular breed for advertising. Whether it’s print, film, or television these pups just have “that look” that makes you say, “Awwwww…”
Obviously, I have never heard of Echosmith but I found “Shut Up and Kiss Me” to be a delightful video. Have a blessed week.

    1. Driller,

I think Golden Retrievers and Labradors pups are adorable. Years ago before the age of online shopping, I loved when we got the LL Bean Christmas catalogs in the mail. They always featured one of these pups on their cover and throughout the pages. Excellent marketing strategy. Nothing warms the heart like a pup at Christmas in a snugly scene by the fire, wrapped in a blanket, romping in the snow, … We still get the catalogs and I enjoy seeing them when they arrive. That marketing technique still is effective. Thanks for stopping by yesterday. I’m heading your way in a moment. Have a blessed day, my friend!
