I see the moon and the moon sees me

Last weekend, Saturday’s weather was wet. We decided to stay around town. This means, no day trip and no photo essay. Not all was lost, though.

Mother’s Day was gorgeous. We spent it leisurely driving around town looking at property. A Sunday afternoon drive soothes the soul. Everything about the day was relaxing ~ the weather, a picnic of Five Guys’ hamburgers, Baskin Robbin’s ice cream, and a beautiful sky!

The moon was quite visible early in the afternoon. I’m not sure what the moon phase was, but it appeared full.

A few hours later, when we got home I sat in the car in our driveway trying to capture the ultimate evening moon shot. Thanks to the tutoring of DH, I think I did well. This is my best night photo of the moon yet.

    1. Night shots are difficult, but with DH’s direction on what to do I underexposed the image enough to keep the moon from being nothing more than a white ball in the sky, while adjusting my f-stop and shutter speed to keep from shooting at a slow speed. Sitting in the car helped to minimize movement. I am glad that you like the shot!

    1. I ususally say, I see the moon and the moon see me, God bless the moon and God bless me! But… I like your way, God loves me, too!

  1. Marvelous moon shots! I don’t think I have a fancy enough camera to capture texture like that – the moon usually just turns into a white blob.

  2. These are beautiful. I love the moon, it is such a wonderful time to sit or lay down out back and just stare up at it.

  3. You did a great job! I think I am going to miss the full moon this month because it is raining and overcast right now. Hopefully next month! Next time I am going to use the tripod.
