Hit the dance floor with the girl “Right Next Door”

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Howdy-hi, folks!  I hope the weekend was good to y’all.  How’s the weather in your neck of the woods?  It’s been pretty wet but the heat still manages to find us.  This week’s Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me theme is your choice song picks and I have decided to pull together a random playlist from the YouTube song stash I keep on my computer to use for times like today.  Now, press play to hit the dance floor with the girl ‘Right Next Door”!

Playlist song tracks:  1. Right Next Door (Robert Cray)  2. Love Reign O’er Me (The Who) 3. Golden Embers (Mandolin Orange)  4. Jubilee Stomp Royal Street II (Tuba Skinny)  5. Rain (SWV)  6. The Man In The Mirror (Jim Glaser)  7. This Feeling (Sam Brown)   8. Green Fields (The Vogues)  9. Masterpiece (Pistol Annies) 10. Pandora’s Box (Procol Harum)

This month’s honorary co-hostess is Marie from Xmas Dolly!

This is a mewsic linky party. Every other week we have a suggested mewsic theme (see side menu) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our mewsic enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

Before I hop over to your place, if you wouldn’t mind, let me point out in my side menu at the top I added my Zazzle store front link.  This is brand new…well, almost I started this once and didn’t do anything with it but am hoping to change that now.  I have only the one design on three or four products.  Please let me know what you think.  Right now, I’m experimenting with my photo-art and in time I may include my illustrations but only those that won’t infringe on copyright or trade mark laws.  That’s a wrap for now. Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. I concentrated on the songs I didn’t know (which was most of them!) Of songs I didn’t know, I loved the Robert Cray song; I know I’ve heard other songs by him and it makes me wonder how I have ever gotten into his music. I also enjoyed Golden Embers and the Procul Harum song. Nice playlist for a nice afternoon.

  2. What a beautiful song of Jim Glaser, we didn’t know him, so we listen twice, really love it and Robert Cray, fanastic and such great memories of that time💗💗💗Pawkisses for a wonderful week ahead. Hope it’s not to warm in your Country, we’re inside for the first time, because of the heat, but Granny and I love the beautiful weather anyway😸🐾😽💞

  3. Thanks for the tunes, Cathy, and love your Zazzle site! Have a boogietastic and razzle-dazzle week, my friend. 😘

    1. Marie,

Yes, I got your email and responded but you’re welcome to give me a call if you need for me to step you through anything. You asked about the linky code, don’t use the one I sent via email. That only works on sites are self-hosted or can accept javascript. This being said, you can click on the ‘GET THE CODE HERE’ link at the bottom of the linky on my blog then copy & paste the second code. That’s what you need for your free site. Feel free to call and I’ll walk ya through if you want. 😉 How was your luncheon date with the girls? I’m not a huge fan of Pistol Annies but sometimes they have a song or two I like and yes, I know Miranda Lambert is part of the group.

        1. John,

Thanks for mentioning Cray’s “Strong Persuader” album. I found supposedly the entire album playlist on YouTube and am listening to it. The first song is “Smoking Gun” which is great! Thanks, my friend. You rock!

  5. Awesome and mellow music girlfriend! WOO HOO! wELL my daughter & granddaughters are here to take me to lunch and yes we’re still celebrating my birthday day! Woo Hoo! We’re going to Portillo’s great place. Later girlfriend! WHO LUVS YA!!!! MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! HUGS

    1. Hey Birthday Girl! I’m glad you found a moment to swing over to boogie with me. That’s awesome that you had a lunch date with your daughter and granddaughter. How fun! I hope you had a blast!

  6. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Aww-some 4M Monday to you, dear friend! I hope you and DH had a wonderful anniversary and a great weekend. I’ve been trying for six hours to access your site. (I sent you three emails about the problem I was having). I am greatly relieved to see that the https:// is back in front of your blog’s address, allowing me to get on and visit you.

Our stray black cat (Boots) likes to lie on his back and watch the world go by. 🙂 That cute and paw-some meme reminded me of him. To answer your question, we finally got some desperately needed rain last night and again this morning. The lawn was baked and brown, and now it is coming back to life. The rainy season has started in Florida, and I hope it lives up to its name.

I enjoyed your miscellaneous mix mewsic block. The MTV station where I worked in the 80s played The Robert Cray Band’s videos for “Smoking Gun” and “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark” along with the one you posted, “Right Next Door (Because of Me).” Cray and his guys have a great sound. This is the first time I’ve heard “Love Reign O’er Me” (subtitled “Pete’s Theme),” a single by The Who released at Halloween 1973. It’s a different sound for the UK band and I like it! I also love the sound of Mandolin Orange, the Americana/folk duo from Chapel Hill, NC. I read that they changed their name to Watchhouse a couple of months ago. I also enjoyed the refreshing sound of Dixieland jazz and ragtime served hot by the New Orleans street band Tuba Skinny. Man, I must really be out of the loop, because I never heard of Sisters With Voices, the R&B trio from NYC. They’ve got a smooth groove going – excellent girl group harmony! I’m thrilled that you posted another song by Sam Brown, the UK thrush I devoted an entire post to a few months ago. Sam was one of the most underrated singers if the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Her mewsical mum was one of the famous Vernon’s Girls and also a member of The Breakaways, the all-female session singers who provided backing vocals on countless Brit pop hits of the 60s. Sadly daughter Sam can no longer sing due to problems with her vocal chords, but her mewsical legacy speaks (sings) for itself. Gosh, I haven’t heard The Vogues cover of “Green Fields” (originally by The Brothers Four, released in 1960) since 1969 when I was dating Mrs. Shady #1. Thanks for the memory! I love the harmonies of the country all-star female trio Pistol Annies. To complete your exciting and eclectic mix, you included another song I never heard before, “Pandora’s Box” by the British band Procol Harum, the mates that gave us the international hit “A Whiter Shade Of Pale” which was also a popular slow dance record at the Shady Dell.

Ancient Shady never even heard of Zazzle, but I clicked over to your page and it looks fabulous. With your artistic ability I think you could make a go of it selling your Cathy’s Heart Designs.

Again, please forgive me for coming so late (for me). It made me sad to be cut-off from CAAC and I’m happy to be reconnected.

Enjoy the rest of your day and week, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

I apologize for not checking my email this morning. Over the weekend I got the same error but I thought the problem would straighten out once the payment posted. I have this problem every year and although I have my payment for this as auto-renew, I keep forgetting I have to actually have Arvixe’s team to manually re-certify the SSL. I think this is only a concern for my readers if I was were selling merchandise. I think anyhow. Your step-son can probably tell you if my thinking is right but anyhow the problem is fixed for another year. I’m sure I’ll forget to contact Arvixe prior to the due date and will find myself, as well as others getting the same warning message.

I’m happy you enjoyed my music selections for today and please you don’t owe me any apologizes. If anyone needs to say I’m sorry, it’s me. Thanks for checking out my Zazzle store front. We’ll see how it goes. The commission I can potential earning isn’t huge but it’s a start. This will be an interesting experiment. Thanks for boogieing with me today, my friend!

  7. I am not familiar with any of these songs. I love the quote. 🙂 XO

  8. I’m going to have to come back a few times to take in all of the great tunes. Robert Cray and Tuba Skinny are just awesome.
The website is up and running again, so all is good. Have a blessed week.

    1. Yeah, everything is good. I forget every year that I have to have Arvixe to manually re-certify the SSL. Over the weekend I got the same error message but accepted the risks and was able to view my blog from the reader’s perspective. I didn’t think anything more about it as I figured it would take care of itself. I was wrong. lol I’m glad I saw your post this morning. Tom sent me emails this morning, too. Normally, I check my email first thing but not today. What can I say, it’s Monday. 🙂 Thanks for joining me on the dance floor, my friend!

    1. Athena & Marie,

My darlin’ furriends, so happy to see you here! Thanks for prancing out on the dance floor with me. What a pawsome time it is to have y’all stop by!

  9. Okay it’s Monday. I’ll just roll with it too. Adorable.

    Love your playlist. Well done.

The last graphic made me laugh out loud. We’ll both never go.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Sandee,

Sometimes that’s all you can do on Mondays. 🙂 Yeah, I had a sneaky suspension that you would be barred from the nuthouse, too. lol Thanks for swinging by to dance with me today!
