I interrupt the regular Wordless Wednesday (sorta) program to bring you this special announcement…. All routine posts for this month is preempted so I might contribute to the largest Blogosphere party ever. Don’t worry, normal posting will resume next month like clock work (I hope). Meanwhile, I invite you to stick around to enjoy the #AprilA2Z fun!
I’m sharing a repeat of an image I captured on the west side of town a few years back that I titled for this morning’s alpha prompt, Golden Sunlight.
This new-to-me 1988 American rock band 311, pronounced… three-eleven, hail from the mid-west town of Omaha Nebraska. This band is plays alternative, reggae, and rap rock, as well as alternative metal genre music. I stumbled upon them while doing internet research for a song to go with my photo title.
Songwriters: Chad Sexton, Tim Mahoney, Nicholas Lofton Hexum, & Doug Martinez 311 – Golden Sunlight Lyrics
Hand over hand I crawl back to land
There is no retreat, that option’s far and away
I have to be brave but I always did crave the golden sunlight
It’s been about me but I’m setting that free for golden sunlight
There’s a door open to walk through
All I want is just beyond
What if I could let my guard down?
Into freedom on and on
Somehow it came out when I can’t talk about
Someone to help me as free as I wanna be
I cannot erase but you helped me face the songs and the flowers
A last perception of my self-deception and then the songs and the flowers
There’s a door open to walk through
All I want is just beyond
What if I could let my guard down?
Into freedom on and on
What if I could just let my guard down?
What if I could live wide open? Yeah
What if I could just let my guard down
And go beyond into the great unknown?
Sweetheart, I’ve been bothered
A golden sun lit path I’ve been after
Grass hills, wild flowers, sharp road trails
For a daughter I want to be her father
I want to hear her laughter under meteor showers
The dogs will howl at the midnight hour
There’s a door open to walk through
All I want is just beyond
What if I could let my guard down?
Into freedom on and on
What if I could just let my guard down?
What if I could live wide open? Yeah
What if I could just let my guard down
And go beyond into the great unknown?

I SURE Did miss the sunrises and sunsets of spring, and summer. They’re so beautiful. Thanks for sharing my friend. Did you know that I’ve also taken the April challenge with the alphabet. It sure is fun. Hope you can stop by some time too HUGS
We have gotten a lot of rain so far, so when the sun comes out then it’s like OH, happy day! I love feeling the warmth shine down on my face!! Yep, I knew you were doing the #AprilA2Z challenge and am watching my in-box for your daily prompt announcement. In fact, I spotted your “G” post arrival when I got up this morning. I came by earlier for a little visit, dear friend. Enjoy the fun!
truly a golden sunlight…and the song is lovely, too…happy Wednesday..
Great pic. I find it really difficult to get the sun in without lens flare, but I love what you’ve done here.
It’s easy to get spots or sunlight flare. Just play around with the positioning a bit until you get the look you’re wanting to capture. That’s what I do. lol
Love your pic. Very nice.

I love 311. Amber and Beautiful Disaster are really good songs of theirs as well.
311 is new-to-me, but I enjoyed finding them. I love getting a dose of music education in my internet searches! Thanks for stopping by!
Love this pic!! I find, it’s always so tricky to capture shining sun in your camera…looks like you’ve done a pretty good job.
You’re right, it’s a hard job to catch the sun, especially with digital cameras. The foreground is either too dark or the background is too washed out. I guess I got lucky this time (or, maybe I just tried harder). 😀
Love your photo, Cathy! And this is song is really something. i like the Asian sound. Especially love the fullness of the chorus. Great “G” day for you.
