This week in one of my daily Bible lessons I read about Jonah’s trouble in the belly of a whale. God wanted Jonah’s attention. God wanted Jonah to have time to think things over. It took Jonah three days to come to his senses before he cried out to God for help. I believe Jonah didn’t cry out to God because he was in tight jam but because he truly knew he’d messed up. Time spent in the belly of a fish gave Jonah time to reflect on and to push aside his concerns or worries. Sometimes that happens to us, God gives us time to think about our situation before acting.
Most of us aren’t called as Jonah into the ministry field but we should share when we can and that’s not what I want to talk about at this moment, though. However, our life is full of conflicts and challenges. Often we know the clear path to take, we listen to that inner voice of reason or caution without much thought. We just do it in our every day life but sometimes for whatever reason we brush it off. At those times is when I find myself in hot water. Failure to give attention to that quiet small voice lands me in hot water. Noting nearly as drastic as poor ole Jonah usually but I did pay the price badly two years ago for not paying attention to God’s call. All He wanted me to do was wait and I didn’t which resulted in nearly tearing the car door off and hurting my leg.
I’ll be back with another pinup girl drawing with your choice song picks turning on the virtual turntable to boogie with Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me fans. Come dance with me! 😉

absolutely love the song you shared
Yes, this is very true.
Many times Mum has ignored her inner voice, intution or God, only to regret it afterwards.
Athena,
Regret always follows here, too.
That inner voice is ignored way too often!
Brian,
I agree, sadly.
A good lesson, my problem is it has had to be repeated!
Mimi,
I often find that I’m repeat offender, too. I try to listen but I let the hustles around me to interfere when I should be listening.
