Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays! This week’s theme, if you choice to play along, is to pick a song or build a playlist of songs opposite to your usual music style!
I listen to so much different music these days that I don’t know that I have a “usual music preference” anymore which got me to thinking about when I was a kid in the 70s, what would’ve been the opposite for me in those days? That was easy. One genre that rarely crossed my ears was classical. The closest I came in those days was Walter Murray’s “The 5th of Beethoven”. Although, more to my liking in those days, it doesn’t quite fit the composers original arrangement. I wondered what Ludwig might have thought of Murray’s disco cover? Anyway, who knew one day, a Beethoven song would be the inspiration for our second daughter’s middle name, Elise.
An interesting tidbit I didn’t realize until now is Walter Murphy did an entire album with the same name as #1 disco hit and if you wanna check it out, then here it is A Fifth of Beethoven!
Remember music themes are only suggestions. I don’t care one way or another. The important thing is to share whatever music moves you. Now, it’s your turn!
Over the summer, I hinted that I might stay in a state of hiatus for the rest of the year. I decided to do just that. I am working hard to resize images because of site overload issues. I could buy a service to do this but one I’m cheap and two I don’t know if it’ll get done like I want. I will be online but not always active and will make return visits as swiftly as possible. Have a boogietastic week!

We love classical mewsic, CK. Granny puts it on effurry morning, it’s such a blessing for the ears😸😸Double Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead🐾😽💞
I listen to classical semi-regularly. I had that Walter Murphy LP, and also his Phantom of the Opera LP. ~Ed.
Classical music is good for the body and mind.
I do remember a Fifth of Beethoven. I don’t mind classical, it is actually pleasing sometimes. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Thanks for joining the party, Patrick!
I don’t listen to Classical music much but when I do, I enjoy it.
I understand the work that goes into resizing images because I had to do the same thing. I use a free program called Squoosh that is easy to use and does a good job. It optimizes and resizes the images. Optimizing images involves reducing their file size without compromising quality, making them load faster and improving overall website performance. Good luck with your site, Cathy. ❣️
I have a free plugin that’ll optimize the images and it has done some but it’s not working now. I think it’s best if I just find them as I can, fix them myself, and hopefully be done with it. This is giving me the opportunity to fix other things wrong with posts that’s flagged. It’s not all bad, I suppose.
When I fixed my images, I took one category at a time and then on to the next. It took awhile but it was worth it. Good luck!
Well that was fun and honestly I don’t to listen to the classics enough when I do I enjoy them! I also thought classical disco was a no no..
As it happens bits okay in small doses 💜💜💜
Small doses, I agree, is best.
I grew up listening to a lot of classical music so it’s always been a favorite category for me. Taking music appreciation at UT and listening to a lot of the programming on WUOT in Knoxville really helped me learn a lot about the range of classical music. It’s mostly what I listen to now.

How cool!
Good choice! I punted on the theme…
No worries. The theme is just a suggestion. 🙂
I had to go and play A Fifth of Beethoven. There are a handful of classical favorites that I like (but never listen to). Fur Elise is one of them, the first movement of Beethoven’s Fifth and the last movement of Beethoven’s Nineth are another, the War of 1812 Overture….good luck with your hiatus. Thanks, Alana!
The 5th of beethoven always makes me think of the disco version on Saturday Night Fever (I think). I do find edm has changed my ear, so old songs I used to love become quite hard to listen to as they seem almost out of key (but I think technically it’s out of tempo)
I have moments where disco doesn’t sit right with me and then other times it’s just what I need to hear.
Thank you, that was gently refreshing.
Classical music is a pleasing change.
I remember The Fifty of Beethoven! Fur Elise was one of the first songs I learned on the piano.
