I wasn’t sure how I wanted to go with today’s showdown. What I wanted was to use another Darlene Love…

My grandmother loved his show. She said it was “vulgar,” but it made her laugh…

That doesn’t surprise me. Some of his quotes are a bit racy and given the times he lived I can see elderly people thinking that about him. lol

It takes a special kind of person to appreciate this kind of humor and there’s no doubt we’re quite a bit alike.

Willow,
I recognized the name when I stumbled on the quote and then when I looked for him online I recognized his face. I don’t know anything about the man but this quote absolutely brought out some chuckles in me.

He was very popular over here but he always , or the type of Characters he played came across , to my mind as a dirty old man. I guess he just is no longer politically correct.
No disrespect meant only my opinion.

Willow,
No disrespect taken, my dear. I’m sure he’s considered politically incorrect by much of society today. I think it’s a hoot! Being politically correct is killing us. It’s taking away from fun entertainment. The comedians like Benny Hill, Mae West, WC Fields… are probably rolling in their graves every time good comedy is ruined by politics. I’m not preaching at you, just the situation we find ourselves in today. That’s why Hollywood can’t make a good movie or songwriters good songs or watch sports without someone trying to turn everything into a political point. Sometimes all I want to do is scream, “Just entertain me already!”
