Fly Like An Eagle

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Howdy-hi, my lovelies!  I hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.  It’ Monday again and this week’s Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me theme is songs about animals.  With this month being the birth of our nation, I felt it only suiting to use the eagle as my inspired animal choice to build my playlist.  Are you ready to party? Hit play to boogie to the tunes!

America’s Pride, the Eagle playlist:  1. Fly Like An Eagle ~ Steve Miller Band  2.  Where The Stars & Stripes & The Eagle Fly ~Aaron Tippin  3. Where Eagles Fly ~Sammy Hagar  4. The Eagle ~Waylon Jennings  5. Eagle When She Flies ~Dolly Parton

This month’s honorary co-hostess is Robin from SongBirdsCrazyWorld

❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵

This is a mewsic linky party. Every other week we have a suggested mewsic theme (see side menu) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our mewsic enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

That’s a wrap for now.   I’ll see you on the dance floor next time for your choice song picks  week.  Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. Hey Stranger. Long time, huh? Love your Eagle-themed set…and so appropriate for this month. Of course Steve Miller’s Fly Like an Eagle is a long-time favorite. I was blown away by Sammy Hagar’s “Eagles Fly”: what a great song! I am definitely a Sammy Hagar fan but never heard that song before…or anything from that particular solo album. I’ve been a Hagar fan since his Montrose days in the 70s.
And Dolly: ya just can’t go wrong with Dolly Parton! I saw a portion of her performance back in the 80s here in Austin at a now-defunct annual event called AquaFest where a bunch of bands all played at various stages and it was one big party at Auditorium Shores here. I was wondering around checking out the different bands and stopped at Dolly’s stage. What a show that woman puts on! Looking back I sure wish I would’ve stay for her entire show… but of course I just had to move on to check out some rock band down the way… A regret I’ll always have but what little time I did spend at her stage was amazing.

I apologize for disappearing from everything blogging but was wondering if I might be able to come back and join in with the Monday’s Music Moves Me? At least occasionally for now as I try to get my blogging feet wet again after having been absent for so long. Not sure I even remember how to do it, frankly! I’m sure a quick refresher with just diving back in will get me up and running…

Hope you’re having a great week…and a great summer. Will look forward to catching up with you!

    1. Michele,

Well, hello stranger! I’m happy to see you stop by to sample the music and boogie with me. I know you had a tough go of things when with your mother’s passing. I hope I’m remembering that correctly. No apologizes needed here, my friend! You’re always, always welcome to join the 4M dance party anytime. We’ll look forward to your participation whenever the music moves you, girlfriend! 😍

    1. Patrick,

Life has a way of pulling you in a zillion different directions making you feel like you’re ready for vacation at the lovely resort with the white jackets that tie behind your back but don’t let it drive you nuts. Just breathe and remember whatever is going on will pass. 😉 Thanks for joining me on the dance floor, my friend!

  2. I enjoyed this set; I honestly would not have thought of including an Eagle. My two favorites were “Fly Like an Eagle” (which I knew) and “When Eagles Fly” (I have heard of Sammy Hagar, but not this particular song.) Mark Twain was a very wise man!

    1. Alana,

Judging by everyone’s reaction, I came up nicely using a song everyone loves, “Fly Like An Eagle”. Sammy Hagar is an artist I often overlook so it’s always nice when I stumble on his work and am always pleasantly surprised by his music.

    1. Ellen,

It’s interesting what you learn when you go out looking for something, especially when you’re looking for music. Thanks for dropping by, my dear!

  3. John Denver’s “I Am the Eagle”
Have you had any word from Little Binky and Granny since the flooding ?

    1. The last time Binky & Granny stopped by was last week. I had no idea they had flooding. I will send her an email to check in with them, though. Thanks for letting me know. I will keep them in prayer that all is well. It’s so scary when it rains hard. Thanks for visiting!

  4. What a great theme for a blog post, focusing on one animal. Obviously, loving Fly Like an Eagle. Have a blessed week.

    1. Driller,

It just felt right to use the eagle since this is our country’s birth month. 🙂 I’m delighted you enjoyed and Fly Like an Eagle is a song I love, love, too!

  5. Great choices for today! I always liked Fly Like An Eagle. I like your take on the ‘Animals’ theme 🙂

  6. Love that kitty and love the Mark Twain quote. Amen.

Fly Like an Eagle is the perfect choice.

Please swing by this coming Thursday for a peek at boating. You’re mentioned too.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥

  7. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Awww-some 4M Monday to you, dear friend! I hope you and DH had a nice weekend.

I appreciate your choice of the American eagle as your theme animal, and I enjoyed these eagle songs. I’ll be posting Steve Miller’s “Fly Like An Eagle” at some point in one of my own blog series. It was encouraging to see a few non-white faces in Aaron Tippin’s song “Where The Stars & Stripes & The Eagle Fly.” The video for Dolly Parton’s song “Eagle When She Flies” is inspiring because it shows all types of women all over the world, women of all races, in various roles that demonstrate their strength and importance to society. “Eagle When She Flies” is the title song from from Dolly’s 31st solo studio album released all the way back in 1991. It’s safe to say Dolly is prolific as well as terrific.

Thanks for the Monday morning mewsic and have a great week, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

Our weekend was nice. I’m glad you enjoyed my eagle song titles. Dolly Parton is an amazing woman and inspiring lady. She’s a fabulous storyteller.
