Good-morning, kittens & dawgs! I for one am happy this week is winding down and the weekend is fixing to kick off. All I want to do is relax, relax, relax. It’s not we haven’t had extra opportunity to do that with two snow days this week, but the stress that comes with winter storms is too much. It’s a nonstop frenzy to keep all laundry and dishes washed, last-minute trip to the store, charge portable devices, and don’t break your neck while shoveling the snow. There’s also the constant worry with will my power go out, did the children make it home safely, or is DH going to get to work tomorrow?
The other day while I thought of post ideas. I thought of a fun memory. My first camera or at least I think it was my first. In any case, I do know it was a camera that I asked my grandparents to get me and I got it for either my birthday or Christmas.
Yep, I wanted a Polaroid camera. I’m pretty sure mine was like the one in the upper left corner, but what I really wanted was the one that closes up SX-70(bottom right corner). No doubt, it was more expensive or I did not specify which model I wanted. In the end, it really didn’t matter because they gave me the perfect gift.
Here is one of the first pictures I took with my first camera.
These are my siblings from left to right: Boone (nickname), Pamela, and JC. Aren’t they cute and silly?
Boone and Pamela behaved well when I said to say, “Cheese!” But, J.C. clearly went overboard. Every family has a ham and he was ours! Ahh ha ha!!
Originally, I scanned the photo in color, but this film type didn’t copy well leaving large hot spots on the reproduction. In order to save this memory digitally, I converted the image to B&W. It isn’t perfect, but I have this picture forever now.
Do you have any flashbacks you’d like to share? We’d love to see what’s stirring around in your mind ~ an old photo, family recipe, a forgotten song, or anything that brings back a bit of past fondness for you.
Thanks for visiting. If you find yourself having trouble keeping warm hop over tomorrow for a little boogie session with Saturday Songsuasion!

Cathy, welcome to ‘celebrate the small things’! Hopefully, I have shoveled snow for the last time this year!
My Mom bought a Polaroid when it first came out. Four years ago I found the camera with case in a closet (I have my parents; home now). Some of the photos look good still. I’m thinking to have a friend scan and email them to me. I do have one photo on my high school graduation day that looks amazing. (Quality of the photo – lol). maybe I’ll get up my nerve and post it sometime. see you Saturday morning… and Sunday too!!

What a cute pic! I think we had a Polaroid camera when I was younger. My parents took all the pictures though.
