Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

I hope this finds you doing well today.   I can’t complain, God is good.  The other day, I received my newest Daily Bible Living email and the first article 10 Things Christians Should Know about Marijuana peeked my curiosity. Nope I don’t smoke it and never have but I know some who think it’s okay for recreational purposes. Admittedly, I have a problem with anything being used for the soul-purpose of altering one’s reality to achieve a high.  Personally speaking from the limited experiences from hospital pain medications I’ve received in past years, I don’t know if that was high but I hated that feeling of being out of control.  I’m not here to throw stones at anyone just to make you think.

This article reminded me that my body, yours as well if you’re a Christian, belongs to God.  We are not free to do with it as we please but even if it were okay to do what we want then why would we wish to harm ourselves?

Those looking for a rush for whatever reason I’m sure aren’t looking to hurt themselves or others but seriously when you’re high your sense of judgement is shot to pieces.  All good judgement you possess is lost in those moments of foggy existences.  Sadly, sometimes horrible, life altering things happen. Is this helping you? Does it help God?

Our body is a temple. We  are meant to bring God glory to a lost world by what we say and do. We are the only Bible some people read and one way to bring God glory is with a sober mind,  clear thinking begets rational thoughts preventing disaster.

We are wonderfully made in His image, do you know what am I gonna do? Perfect I am not but I gonna rejoice in God’s blessings and doing the best that I can so that He might use me for His goodness!

I hope to see on the Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me dance floor. We’ll be boogieing to ‘your song choice picks’.

Have a blessed and Songsational Sunday!

  1. I tried smoking pot while in college and didn’t like it. I don’t like drugs of any kind, even those prescribed. Moderation is key is anything we do.

  2. Hi, Cathy!

I couldn’t agree with you more, dear friend. Abusing one’s body is a sin that far too many people commit. The greatest high of all is being in control of one’s faculties. That’s the euphoria I have experienced since that day in June 1992 when I quit drinking, drugging and smoking cigarettes all at the same time. Once I made up my mind to stop, there was no struggle. Ever since I enjoy each day clean and sober and with a sense of freedom and accomplishment.

Have a wonderful week, dear friend Cathy!

  3. A hard one for me. I use to toke up but stopped 30 years ago. The party scene was too much for me. I agree with using marijuana for medical reasons but just to get walk around stoned is something I do like. Of course, I will have a beer or two but being drunk is something I hate. I think that too many people take things to excess and that is the problem that I have.

  4. I have never smoked pot and it really irks me that my state allows it now and pot shops are popping up all over.

  5. You’ve taken the words out of my mouth. We need to be sober-minded. If it’s for medical purposes that’s one thing, i have had to take such meds in the hospital as you described, and i don’t like it either.

  6. From what I’ve seen, I much rather be around a person who is stoned than one who has abused alcohol. The drunk truly has no control of their actions and is a threat, where I’ve seen people control themselves when on Marijuana. Furthermore, I believe it should be legal for medical use. I know someone who controlled pain with Marijuana and had no lasting effects. I believe it is not as bad as it has been made to appear to be. I’d much rather see pot legal and alcohol illegal!

    1. Joyce,
I have no problem with any using marijuana for medical reasons. I don’t have experience but I’d think an abusive drunk is probably also abusive when sober. It’s such a shame that anyone is abusive. Prohibition failed so I imagine that’ll never be tried again. There’s a lot of money to be made in that market. That’s the reason alcohol is legal & I believe thats why there’s a push to legalize certain street drugs so more people can get in on the profits.
