Face of Jesus

My art participation is sporadic at best this year.  Last spring, I shared a couple of sketches I did of Jesus with the FFO community.  Today’s contribution is not my work but the artist Joe Castillo. Honestly, I can’t remember how the image below crossed my path but I found it in an archived image file folder. I suspect it was through the Round Robin emails of yesteryear that I came to have it.  I felt it perfect timing to share it with you now.

The text in this image isn’t the greatest. I made sure I had the spelling of the artist right. However, in my my search  I found a different image with more hidden pictures  I like even better.

As a Christian, this is a meaningful and moving image. Today is Good Friday. The day Christ died for all us, but Sunday is comin’ and for a Christian this means Jesus lives!

Created meme after seeing the quote online using various freebie resources from the Internet

I purposely held off telling you where I found the second image to give you a chance to search the face of Jesus for yourself and encourage you to visit the site of Mark Armstrong Illustration for the scripture reference for each hidden picture.

That’s it for today.  Up next is Mondays Music Moves Me on Sundays. Come join the fun with the 4M on the dance floor. Have a funtastic weekend! xo

  1. Happy Easter, CAThy!
I hope you and your family are enjoying a beautiful, inspiring day.

That drawing was extremely clever and wonderfully rendered.

    THE GREATEST COMEBACK IN HISTORY:
“He will be mocked and insulted and spit upon. They will scourge Him and kill Him. And the third day… He will rise again!”

    1. I love the way you phrased it “THE GREATEST COMEBACK IN HISTORY” and you’re so right. Jesus said, “because I live, ye shall also live”. Isn’t that beautiful? Have a blessed Easter Sunday, my friend!

  2. A big thing on Easter when I was growing up were Lamb cakes. They were made in a special mold and were finished with white icing and coconut. Did you have that where you grew up?

    Happy Easter!

    1. I remember coconut cake as a kid but I don’t anyone ever used a mold. That would’ve been nice. When our kids were small, I made a rabbit shaped coconut cake without a mold. It was tricky but it turned out fine and the kids loved it. That’s was good enough for me. 🙂 Now, I want coconut cake!
