In last week’s BoTB, I used two December songs in my battle. Tchaikovsky’s “December” VS Pandolfi’s “Once Upon a December”.
Tchaikovsky’s song transported me to a Christmas long ago on the dancefloor with women in long flowing dresses and men in formal attire waltzing in a beautifully decorated room whereas Pandolfi’s surreal arrangement felt soothing to the soul and I dare say if I allowed myself to listen to this mewsic at bedtime then it would lull me peacefully to sleep.
How did these two songs go head-to-head? Like me, most preferred the soft, romantic piece of Contender # 2 nearly making this showdown a shutout with 9 to 2 victory.
To see how the other showdowns went, I invite you to visit the official manager of BoTB, Stephen for the update list of players.

I’m taking a break in Blogosphere with limited activity for the holidays but plan to resume things after the first of the new year. My scheduled posts are set and I hope you’ll come join me tomorrow for latest Friday Sillies for a few Christmas Giggles. This is Curious as a Cathy signing off with another Pandolfi song for your enjoyment.
Have a songtastic day and a very Merry Christmas!

It looks beautiful there in NC. And that woman playing in the cold, just loves what she does 🙂 or…
Thanks for the music and Merry Christmas to you Cathy! *HUGS*
Merry Christmas, my friend! ❤?
That’s a lovely holiday scene in your photo there, Cathy. 🙂 I picked the winner, along with most of the others. Loved the bonus video! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I’m unplugging for the next week and a half and will likely miss your scheduled posts. Catch up with you next year! P.S. You should add your @twittername to the “TweetThis” plugin (I’ve been adding it manually). Just go to the plugin’s settings and enter @ETNHome as the default Twitter handle. Cheers! 🙂
Debbie, I took your suggestion to add my Twitter handle in the “TweetThis” plugin. I appreciate you pointing this out to me. Enjoy your time away from Blogosphere. If I had any sense then I would not have set posts while I’m on hiatus but I did. Next time I take a blog break then I won’t do this as it defeats the purpose of breaking away. Anywho, have a good Christmas and I’ll see you in the New Year!
Now you’ll get the proper recognition for those tweets, plus you’ll be able to see who tweeted your posts. It’s a handy little tool. 🙂 This time of year, I like to unplug and just enjoy the season, offline. Hubby will be home for the week and he’s not into computers at all. Wouldn’t be fair. We’ll be busy with the doggie house guests, anyway. Hope you get a good turnout for your posts regardless. Lots of people are off work, so they may have more time. Cheers!
Hi, Cathy!
I’m back to being your midnight buddy, at least for one night. 🙂 I am pleasantly surprised to learn that your ears and the ears of most other voters matched mine in your latest battle. I especially love listening to the piano at this time of year and it was a real treat to play your bonus video with Pandolfi tickling the ivories and bringing us the melodies of two more Christmas favorites.
Thank you very much for a heaping helping of hospitality and great holiday mewsic, dear friend Cathy!
Tom, Pandolfi owed this showdown. So, it comes as no surprise that you were also on the winning side but generally our ear is tuned to the same mewsic frequency. I like listening to piano arrangements for Christmas, too. You might like this The Beegie Adair Trio. I have their Jazz Piano Christmas album and I thought I had shared it on my site but I couldn’t find it, so here it is for you to enjoy!
Thanks for the bonus track, Cathy. I really enjoyed that jazz combo playing “Let It Snow.” During the holidays I like listening to instrumentals as much or more than vocal recordings.
Thanks again, dear friend!
I’m happy to hear you enjoyed The Beegie Adair Trio. I’m always glad to share good mewsic with a friend such as you! 😉
