Good morning, Kittens & Dawgs! Contrary to what you might be thinking, I’m really taking a blogging break for the next couple of weeks. I just have a strange way of doing it. I’m just committed to co-hosting the best dance party in Blogosphere with the 4M gals. This week, we’re dancing “freebie style” which means anything goes mewsic wise that is! Reel in your wild side folks. This is a family friendly site. 😉
[tweetthis]It’s “freebie” #music week! Hit the dance floor with the #4M crew. #tellafriend @xmasdolly[/tweetthis]
I came across this morning picks last month which I saved just for this occasion and I hope you enjoy them, too.
It just dawned on me that both artists begin with the letter “P” but I didn’t find these mewsicians while doing the A to Z Challenge because of this reason or at least I don’t think so. I guess it’s possible I could have but I do remember looking for songs for the alpha-prompt “W” when I came across “Watercolour”. The thing is I didn’t use any mewsic in either of those posts.
While I’m here, I might as well let the Cathy out of the bag on who won in last week’s “Glad All Over” #BoTB Showdown.
This was a run away 11-3 victory for Suzy Quatro including my vote for Leather Tuscadero. Yeah, that’s a name from those good ole “Happy Days” which I totally forgot about until John reminded me. Thanks to everyone for making this a fun battle showdown and I’ll see you for June 1st #BoTB!

Ughh-I know I missed the BOTB regarding your battle. I love the Pinky Tuscadero reference.
Seems like we are at that point in life again that we are losing a lot of good actors. We have lost so many over the yrs. RIP Roger Moore.
Yes, I thought you were taking a blogging break too! You do have a funny way of showing it. Enjoy your break.
You’ve broadened my horizons today, as previously I had not heard of either song or group. Usually, between me, my 27 year old son and his wife and my seventeen year old daughter, I manage to catch a little of whatever goes around.
I Saw it on Facebook at Life & Faith in Caneyhead. 🙂
Barbara,
When the kids were at home they kept me in the mewsic loop but nowadays I rely on my blogger pals to share hidden treasures with me. I’m glad I was able to introduce to you a few new tunes. 🙂
Well, that is odd…you shared Happy Days music and Bill shared The Squigtones from Laverne & Shirley. Great minds, right? HUGS!
Annie,
Yeah, I thought that was a happy coincidence to find that Bill used The Squigtones as a feature which was a good match up with my BoTB winner bonus mewsic. I guess we were on the same page which is kinda cool! Thanks for visiting, dearie and have a great day! 😉
“Watercolour” was okay, but I really liked “Cut You Loose” for the Eighties vibe. Glad you picked up on the Leather Tuscadero thing. That might have been the peak of Suzi’s career.
So glad that Suzie Quatro won your battle. It’s fun to think of her as Leather Tuscadero (always loved that last name!) and her sister Pinky. So long ago!
Hey, I really like that song Cut You Loose! Thanks for turning me on to it.
Have a good one Cathy!
Michele at Angels Bark
Michele,
I’m glad you liked “Cut You Loose”. It’s a great dance tune, putting the boogie in your move while sitting at your computer for sure! 😉 Thanks for stopping by. I’m heading your way next!
Yay; Suzi won the battle! 🙂 I’m a big fan of hers and her ‘Pinky Tuscadero’ character. She and The Fonz were so cool together. Those ‘P’ tunes were new to me. Thanks for the introduction. Sorry about Marie! 🙁 Wishing her a good recovery. I went through the same thing last year and know it’s a long process.
Oops! I meant “Leather”. Pinky was played by Roz Kelly.
Debbie,
Thanks for visiting, my friend. I appreciate your thoughtfulness regarding Marie. We’re all praying she feels well again soon. I’ve been fortunate (knock on wood) to never experience pneumonia but I can imagine how horrible it is after being so ill the spring of 2013. The hospital made me use that breathing thingy to help me from not developing pneumonia but where I was so anemic my could barely make that thing move because I was extremely weak. This battle has turned out to be very interesting to learn Suzi played Leather Tuscadero and wowza I had forgotten about Pinky! I loved that show back in its day! That was just fun, wholesome family entertainment. The writers knew how to write real comedy. The silliness was just that silly and nothing embarrassing. Have a great week. I’ll see ya soon!
Great songs. Thanks for hosting
Thanks for dancing with me today, Patrice. I’ll be by to see you soon! ?
Since I never watched much Happy Days I wasn’t familiar with the Suzy Quattro connection. Still not a big fan of her music though I won’t say she’s bad, but she decisively won that match.

Tossing It Out
Great tunes as usual, Cathy! Thanks for helping with hostessing duties – and for supplying a linky while our fearless leader is under the weather. For some reason it doesn’t want to display on my bog, aside from the link to ‘get’ the code (so I changed the text for less confusion…heh!) 🙂 Thanks for the dance, my friend – have a great week! 🙂
be a Better Man and Journey On because i’m Craving You like Thunder
*blog, even… Guess I better get more coffee! 😀
Stacy,
I’m happy to help with the linky. It’s not the best but it’s free. I’m sorry for the screw up in sending it to you but I now have the linky code listed on my site to copy and paste. After this problem, I decided to subscribe again to LinkyTools because viewers can snag the code and place on their sites with no problems. Maybe, that’s a feature with inLinkz but they are more expensive and I’m not going to chance it since I know how LinkyTools works. Thanks for stopping by for a dance, my friend. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Marie makes a quick recovery!
Thanks for hosting and introducing me to great songs that I hadn’t heard before. I saw Henry Winkler in a recent clip. He’s changed a bit since 1978. 🙂
Joyce,
I think we’ve all changed a bit since 1979. lol I always liked Henry Winkler as the Fonz. There hasn’t been a lot that I’ve seen him in since his role on “Happy Days”. He did star in “A Christmas Carol” from 1979 that I really like. It’s hard to believe that made for TV movie is that old. It seems like only yesterday I was watching it for the first time, which I think it was in the early 80s, but then again I say this about our anniversary. We were married in 1979. Somehow 38 years have flashed before my eyes in a blur except for the standout moments frozen in my mind crystal clear. Thanks for dancing with me, my friend. Have a good week!
That was a fun battle! Lots of great music to get the week started!
Thanks Mary for hitting the dance floor this morning and to find out who won in my last BoTB. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Have a good week, my friend and I’ll see ya soon! 😉
Hi, Cathy!
I always appreciate being able to get a jump on Monday posts on a Sunday. You posted two new to me P mewsic acts and I enjoyed both. If they had been contenders in a band battle I’d have voted for Pendulum doing “Watercolour” because their percussive brand of alt rock packs a little more punch.
Thanks for letting the Cathy out of the bag 🙂 and revealing which artist won your latest BOTB. The result of the vote comes as no surprise to me even though, by the way you were talking on May 15, I thought you might be leaning toward TT Quick. I’m happy to know your ears matched mine in the end. I am aware that Suzi Q played the character Leather Tuscadero on Happy Days but, know what?, I had stopped watching the series by then. For some reason, it just got old on me really fast and I bailed out after three seasons. I therefore also missed one of my favorite actresses, Crystal Bernard, (later Helen on Wings), playing K.C. Cunningham on Happy Days in season 10 in the early 80s.
Thanks for the entertainment, dear friend Cathy, and have a super week ahead!
Tom,
I considered using the two version of Watercolor/Watercolour in a BoTB and who knows maybe I will at some point so don’t be surprised to see them or others appear at a future date. In my last BoTB I was leaning toward TT Quick but then like I do so often shift in my decision. It takes me awhile sometimes for a band to sway me the right way. I hadn’t realized that the series “Happy Days” (you may recall I met Ron Howard’s brother, Clint, a couple years back at the Mayberry Days event in Mt. Airy, NC)ran for 10 years until you mentioned it. I mainly remember watching the show through the 70s but after we got married (1979) I don’t recall watching the program much after that time. I watched a short clip from 1983 with Richie Cunningham’s return and I believe I saw that one, so maybe my memories aren’t what I thought they were and I did watch more of the show than I remember. Gee, my memory stinks! Wings was another good show from the 90s. We watched it some but that was during the busiest time for me raising a family, homeschool, etc so I didn’t get much time to watch TV and there was no such thing as streaming. lol Thanks for jogging my memory. I really need to those little jolts from time to time. Have a good week, my friend and thanks for stopping by!
I had forgotten about Pinky , I thought she was so cool. 🙂
Ellen,
Yeah, I forgot about Pinky, too until John reminded me! I thought she was cool, too. But the Fonz…was uber cool! I loved Henry Winkler in that role! Thanks for visiting!
