Country Roads #BoTB RESULTS

Hello Kittens & Dawgs! Thanks for stopping by to see if your BoTB pick got named the winner. Last week, I presented a Hawaiian and reggae version of Country Roads and asked y’all to vote for your favorite version. These different versions were hard for some and I admit when I first heard them I wasn’t sure but after listening to them a few times they grew on me and since have come to like both.  I knew from the start that I preferred IZ cover the best and my opinion hasn’t changed. My vote goes to Israel. This is one of the closest battles to date. Here’s how the votes stacked…

Israel Kamakawiwo’ole – Stephen, Michele, Tom, Amanda, John, Mike, Mimi, & ME (8)
Toots & the Maytals – Lee, Mary, Cherdo, Eugenia, Ellen, Sandee, & Cathy (7)

The winner by just a narrow margin of one is none other than the late IZ!

I’ll leave you with a popular YouTube playlist featuring 20 songs by IZ. Enjoy the mewsic!

You’ll find more awesome battles underway at some of these blog listed below (not everyone is doing the bi-monthly showdowns now) and if you’d like to be included in the fun, then contact Stephen requesting to be added to the list.

Tuesday night, my 95-year old father-in-law passed.  Death is never easy even when you know it’s coming to claim someone you love. We find comfort knowing that he’s now in heaven with his loved ones who passed before including his wife.  I bet it was a wonderful homecoming for him!  Please keep us in your prayers.  I’m not sure what lies ahead in Blogosphere for the next week or two but I’ll pop in when I can and I asked that you patiently excuse my absence. I promise I will do visit soon.  Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me (see side menu for weekly theme) is always opened and I scheduled April 1st BoTB for Saturday, March 31st, so mark your calendar to join me. Have a good week and God bless!Save

    1. Stephen,

I think most Christians feel the way you do but that’s not for us to do. God has a purpose for each us to remain in this world until it’s our time to cross over. It’s gonna be a great reunion when we reach the other side, won’t it? I just imagine all the happy faces now in heaven free of worry, sickness, and other earthly burdens. Thanks for checking on my battle and for leaving such thoughtful words. God bless!

  2. I’m so sorry about your father in law. It’s hard to loose them no matter what age they are. You’re in my thoughts and prayers, my friend. Big healing hug. ♥

  3. My condolences to the loss of your FIL. Living to 95 is quite an achievement.

You had a close Battle there. Good job.

    1. Lee,

It’s a marvel to see folks live well into their 90s and beyond. My FIL always knew who DH was when he called and he even got to speak to him briefly on his birthday earlier this month. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated fast in recent months. At least he had a 24-hour caregiver tending to him in his last days. Thanks for stopping in to see how the battle went.

  4. Hi, Cathy!

I am terribly sorry to learn that your dear father-in-law has passed away. Fortunately you honored him a few days ago when you posted that picture of him posing with his very young son DH and shared information and memories about him. Please accept my condolences and my prayers.

I am happy to learn that your band battle came down to the wire and pleased that you broke the tie by voting for Israel.

Thank you, dear friend Cathy. I will be thinking about you and your family.

    1. Tom,

Thank you for the sweet words. Austin was a wonderful man. Yes, DS bears his name and I remember very well how proud DH’s dad was when he learned that his only grandson was given his name. I actually thought I saw his head swell just a wee bit. lol If nothing else, his eyes twinkled alot with this honor.

Yep, I broke the tie. Normally, I hate to do that but I felt more moved by IZ which made it far easier to do this time. Thanks for visiting and for the kind email. Have a good day, my friend!
