Computer Crash/Tax-Free Holiday/Inspiring US Capital Tour Video

One thing I learned recently is,  don’t wait for a crisis to hit – be prepared! A week ago this past Saturday our world came crashing down. Actually, it was our 2-year-old desktop that crashed. The real kicker is, it was totally unexpected and without cause. Were we ready for this? Nope, nope, nope! I hadn’t done a backup in forever or it may as well be like forever because my last known back up was in May 2011. That’s really great, Cathy!

Meanwhile, DH & I must scrap over who gets to use our sole fastest computer in the house while we’re in this out-of-our-minds limbo state.  Just continue to keep your fingers and toes crossed while thinking warm, fuzzy thoughts for all things to work out in the end with minimal heartache. I’m pretty sure, we may be able to pull our important files off.  We’ll know soon enough as we plan to attempt to retrieve the data files from the hard drive this weekend. Okay, enough about this blah-blah news.

The first weekend of the month, Tennessee had a tax-free holiday. My precious sweet DH did something very cool. Brace yourselves…oh be still my beating heart…he got me an iPad with the Retina display. Like, OMC (Oh my Cathy)! How cool is that? I’ve wanted one of my own for a few years, but got the itch really bad last fall. Now, I am the proud owner of one! You can bet you’ll hear more in the coming weeks, as I explore and learn all the endless possibilities of my new toy. Yippee,  hippie, hooray!

Are you a religious or spiritual person? If you’re like me, then your folks were Christians are or at the very least strongly moral. The values my parents handed me played an instrumental part in my life. Part of my own Christian heritage brings deep thanksgiving to this nations’ founders for their courage and convictions to settle a new land to pursue their religious faith freely.

Over the years, there has been much controversial over religion and state. It’s hard to see the exactness for the smoke screen, especially those who are not persuaded as myself of the truth in our nation’s early beginnings. Perhaps you’ll find this brief, but amazing video inspiring.

Take a few minutes to enjoy a cup of coffee with your bloggy friends, as you enjoy some  random reflections, considerations, or broodings. While you’re at it, join in on the fun – create your own post and link up with Stacy Uncorked! Join Angela from Mommy Time Out and I tomorrow on Wayback Wednesdays. Have a terrific day!

  1. Hey Girl, your give-away link is not working any where even at the comment you left me. I sent you an email, but have not heard from you. I was going to put it on my linky for you when I found it out.

  2. I had the same computer crash mode about 5 years ago – lost all of Princess Nagger’s first couple of years of pictures. I’m hanging on to the hard drive, though, just in case they can be salvaged. Good luck with your computer woes! I now have auxiliary hard drives I save all the important stuff on, just in case another crash happens unexpectedly. 🙂

The link to your giveaway isn’t working – so after I’m done here I’ll go check it out. 😉

That video was pretty cool! 🙂
