Cold Feet – Day 18 G2KM Blog Challenge

Posted on February 10, 2011

Cold feet?  Not cold feet as in “backing out” of a situation, like in marriage, “I’ve got cold feet”.  I mean, “I’ve got cold feet because I can’t get them warm.”  For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had problems with cold feet and hands.  The cooler months only add to my problem.

Do you have cold feet?  I read that women are nine times more likely to suffer from cold feet than men. If you’re like me, then you may find this article interesting: The curse of cold feet: Why women suffer more than men from icy toes… and what we can do about it this piece has some valuable info worthy of mental digestion.

Cold feet can be a warning sign of something wrong.  Don’t underestimate something seemly so benign as harmless.  According to my Google digging around, chronic cold feet could be related to PVD (Peripheral vascular disease) which is a medical term given to a group of conditions causing cold feet and legs. Patients with Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Raynauld Diaseasm Arthritis and Cerebral Palsy are at risk for this condition. Most of these disorders most of us would not give a second thought about, but the which concerns me most is Diabetes. Everyone can relate to this either first hand or know someone who has it. Don’t ignore your cold hands. It could be a reason to consult your physician.

The next time your hubby complains about your cold feet when you snuggle beneath the sheets, remind him this is the “better or WORSE” part of your marriage vows.  And, trust me, my husband has had 31 years of cold feet, if it doesn’t get any worse than cold feet, then you both will have many happy years together, too!

    Haha, I think if cold feet is the worst hubby has to deal with, than it should be a peace of cake right? Great subject today.

    @Linda…it’s not uncommon for me to wear socks to bed, too. It helps to keep from getting leg cramps.

    @SelfSagacity…yep, I agree it’ll be a piece of cake for sure. =D

    @Donnie…oh yeah, it’s so nice to have hubby to warm my cold toesies. He’s such a sweetheart!

    I have cold feet a few times but it’s usually in the winter or if Don has the AC turned way down. I think he gets hot flashes too. It’s nice to have someone to warm them up for you.

    I have always had cold feet and hands. I hate wearing socks to bed, but sometimes it is a must!
