Christmas at The Island in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Hello, my lovely Kittens & Dawgs!  Per my promise last Thursday, I shared one photo on Friday and am now going to share a few more from our recent trip to the mountains taken of Christmas at The Island in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Although it’s been a long time since I’ve ridden a carousel but whenever I see one it always brings the inner kid out in me.  How about you?  The lights at Christmas always make our time spent in the Smoky Mountain foothills truly a magical experience.  We hope to go again before Christmas and if time doesn’t allow us to then maybe we’ll get a chance to go before the Winterfest light show vanishes on February 28th.

You’re invited back for your weekly dose of giggles with Friday Sillies where you can also enjoy my Friday hodgepodge of other fun stuff.  Have a fototastic day.

    1. Ellen, if you’re ever in the Smoky’s be sure to stop in at The Island. It’s a nice treat at night all year round with The Wheel all lite up. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Kathe, The Wheel has lights on it all year long but the rest of the lights and decoration The Island put up but then all the foothill towns (Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, & Gatlinburg) have elaborate Christmas decorations and lights every year. It draws a lot of extra tourism into the area. Thank you for stopping by!

  1. My youngest LOVES the carousel!!! It’s always her favourite ride and I will definitely have to show her this one, all lit up for holidays! She would be thrilled. It’s so beautiful. I can’t wait to drive around and check out all the light displays.

    1. Les, we haven’t driven around town to see the lights yet. Maybe, we’ll get a chance to do that this weekend. I think it’s supposed to be a cold and wet one, too. I may not get any pictures if it rains. Bah-humbug! 🙂

  2. Such beautiful lighting displays! Here in Wisconsin it’s always so cold we can’t enjoy holiday lights as much. A lot of people drive by houses/neighborhoods that are known for great lights and some parks do lighting displays that you can drive through too, but we definitely can’t just walk and enjoy the lights.

  3. Beautiful lights, there, Cathy! I love how they all seem to have a purple tinge. I’m joining you again, with my Niagara Falls slideshow from last year. Cheers!

    1. Debbie, the lights in the fountain, which is in the background of the top photo, turns different colors. The Wheel alternates colors sometimes flashing and other times solid. Christmas lights make anyplace more special, don’t you think? Thanks for stopping in and linking up again!
