Last week, I shared that autumn is beginning to reveal itself in the higher elevations of the Smoky’s. The same day, I captured a few photographs of the slightly changing landscape.
The mountain stream in the above picture with one lone tree announcing to the others, “Hey, it’s autumn get with the program!” The tiny body of water could be heard which is quite surprising considering to my back there is a river which is noisy.
The Little Pigeon River is almost deafening loud. It’s a beautiful spot but it’s difficult to stay there for too long and it makes having a conversation at a reasonable volume level impossible. It’s still a lovely place to drop by for quick glance to absorb the sound of nature.
In the below picture, I used an Etheral filter in Pixelmator Pro that made the yellows pop in the image. I image last weekend this spot looked more like my enhanced photo.
Everyone is welcome to join Wild Wednesdays, the linky party where just about anything goes. It’s a chance to do a little self-promoting of your site or a favorite post. No rules, other than to keep it family friendly. 😉
My participation in Blogosphere is semi-active. I’m sharing scheduled posts but not joining any linky parties but who enjoy participating with others in the Wordless Wednesday community, please visit my good bloggy pals Sandee, Natasha, Marie, & Wordless Wednesday! Tomorrow, my TAD post is scheduled for those interested. I’m in the midst of preparing for our staycation and I’m limiting my involvement in Blogosphere. I shall leave you with today’s WSC song picks. Have a wild and wonderful day! X💋X💋, Cathy

Stunning nature photos, Cathy! 😍 Thanks for sharing them with us. Have a good rest of the week.
Beauriful photos! I have missed stopping by. But I seem to be forever catching up. Enjoy the rest of the week. Take care.
Your photos are stunning- this is such a lovely time of year!
It’s all so pretty there!
That really is such a beautiful area and I like your playlist too!
I love your pictures and I love nothing but coming up to a babbling brook or a small creek. I love the noise but f water and the pictures really show the coming of Fall. I love your 3 picks…Kiss created a great song with Beth. I totally forgot about the middle song but it is a great choice. Cyndi Lauper is a great talent and it shows with this musical treat.
Nice photos of a fantastic place in the Smokies. Years ago a friend and I hiked up to the top of the Chimneys in the darkness of early morn so we could see the sun rise. It was an amazing experience. Glad we didn’t get lost in the dark.
This week I’ve joined in on the Music Challenge. You and I matched on “Under the Milky Way”. Such a great song!

I love this idea of Wild Wednesdays where anything goes. Your photos are just gorgeous. I have always wanted to go there. Hey how can one go wrong with Kiss. Have a great day
A beautiful spot as long as you don’t want to talk to anyone. I could sit there and dream for a bit and enjoy the beauty.
Nice playlist this morning. The Lauper song I’d not heard before.
Thank you for hosting the fun, Cathy. Have a fabulous Wild Wednesday and rest of the week. Love and hugs. ♥
Happy Wild and Wordless Wednesday, Cathy! Enjoy planning your staycation and thanks for the KISS mewsic! 😘
Hi, Cathy!
Happy Wild & Almost Wordless Wednesday, dear friend!
That babbling brook or, perhaps more accurately, tiny mountain stream in the Smokys at Chimneys Picnic area, is a beautiful sight. I can imagine the sound as the water tumbles down the steep slope over those rocks. It is an odd phenomenon that one tree is already changing color for fall while those around it lag behind. I also like your enhanced image of the noisy Little Pigeon River.
In your WSC, I’m pleased that you remembered Kiss and their big hit ballad “Beth.” I never heard Cyndi Lauper sing in that gritty, bluesy style before. I love it. I see that “Don’t Cry No More” is a song from her 2010 comeback album Memphis Blues released on her 57th b-day!
I already busted my brain at BB’s, but I will try to come up with three different songs in support of your WSC. Here are my picks:
GIRL NAME SONG: “Polk Salad Annie,” a top 10 hit in the late summer of 1969 for Loozeeanna Bayou rocker Tony Joe White.
UNDER SONG: “Under the Mango Tree” performed by uncredited singer Diana Coupland, a memorable song and scene from the 1962 James Bond 007 film Dr. No.
CRY SONG: “You Don’t Have to Be a Baby to Cry,” a hit single for the English girl-pop duo The Caravelles. The record reached the top 3 on the U.S. chart at the end of 1963, the weeks immediately following the assassination of President Kennedy.
Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Cathy!
