Weekly Song Challenge: A profession, day of the week, and a vehicle & a Wednesday Hodgepodge Q&A

Let’s start hump day with mewsic. Mary from JingleJangleJungle host’s a mid-week song challenge. She tosses out three prompts and then you’re to build a playlist.  Sounds fun right?

Johnny Cash, Jesus Was A Carpenter, “a profession”.

I’m stretching Mary’s “day of the week” prompt subbing it for day’s in general with Third Day’s song God of Wonders referring to the Master’s creation.

In  keeping this song prompts with my over all Christian theme my first thought for “vehicle” was a donkey.  In ancient times people used these stubborn critters for travel.  Dan Tompkins’ song tells the account of Jesus’ arrival through the eyes of this animal in Donkey’s Song: Beast of Burden.

I’m going to wind things up today with my responses to Joyce’s Wednesday Hodgepodge questions this week.

1. Have you done more binge watching this past year than in ‘normal’ years? Any plans to break that habit in 2021? Tell us one or two shows you binged last year that you really liked.    We did do more TV watching last year than usual.  I can’t say for certain that will change.  I guess it will depend on if this pandemic blows over.  The biggest thing I plan to change is to actively use my elliptical again.  Last week I managed to get two days in and hopefully I can match that this week.  My goal is to get back to using it daily for an hour and a half.  Speaking of binge watching, we did start a series on Apple TV+ called Long Way Round with Ewen McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars) and Charley Boorman.   It’s a documentary of their travel around the world on motorcycles.  I wasn’t sure how well I’d like this show but it’s turned out to be an enjoyable program.

2. January 26th is Australia Day. Have you ever visited or lived in Australia? Have you ever tasted Vegemite, and if so what did you think?  Is a trip down under on your bucket list? We answered a question about travel three months ago (the October 21st Hodgepodge), but let’s revisit now…where are you when it comes to planning or even imagining travel this year?   We still have plans for a New England vacation but we may have to wait until this fall to go as it looks like pandemic restrictions have tightened again.

3. Something that zaps your energy? Something that energizes you? Troubling situations involving my children zaps my energy. That’s when I realized that I hadn’t yet turned those concerns over to the Lord and then I’m good to go again.  The things that energize me is thinking about the prospect of moving into a new home.  I keep saying, ‘”Maybe this will be the  year?”  It’s a bit defeating every year that passes but I know God has His hands in this matter.  We have to patiently wait for the right place to come along.

4. On a scale of 1-10 what are your eating habits like these days? (1=all junk food all the time and 10= juicing every green thing in the frig) Healthiest meal you’ve eaten in the last week or so? I’d say my eating habits about an 8.  We do our share of junk food but that’s usually when we snack.  Mealtimes are pretty healthy, though.

5. What’s your most often ‘Back in my day….’ thing to say? “That’s cool!”

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I will close things with this photo op.

A day trip to the mountains in December. You gotta love the Cherokee’s dedication to spreading Covid awareness but I couldn’t help but smile when I saw the big ole Indian masked, as well as the bear in the distance. 😀

Join my #WildWednesdays linky party where just about anything goes! The concept for this mid-week blog hop was conceived as I found myself moving farther away from photography and more toward art. Of course, that’s not what this party is about. You’re invited to share anything – artwork, DIY projects, photos, music, musings, randomness, recipes, and more!

I’m linking with these Wordless Wednesday Communities… Sandee, NatashaMarie, & Wordless Wednesday!

That wraps things up.  Join me tomorrow for Thursday Art Date with Rain.   Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day! X💋X💋, Cathy
